Hinrich's Name Linked With Andre Miller?

Now that Pau Gasol is off the market, Chicago Tribune columnist Sam Smith has turned his attention to other players to try to get to Chicago.

Smith writes in his latest column that Kirk Hinrich's name has has come up in speculation about the 76ers' Andre Miller. [READ]

Why??? Hinrich isn't that good... And he's not a pure PG, which I believe this team needs. Sure he plays good D, but despite the fact that people say he can stroke the ball, he's a 40fg% through out his career. The only nice thing that comes with his game is his D as well as his ability to hit the 3 pointer with consistency. I would rather wait a bit, pick someone up this summer or in the draft, or just let miller's contract expire in 09 and go after a big FA then.

They dont - and Stupid Sam is clearly making up another trade to get his name back in print.

Stupid Sam keeps forgetting that Kirk is BYC this season. He cannot easily be traded for Miller or most other players.

Kirk is having trouble adjusting to his new marriage & new contract

He will not suck this bad forever. He'll eventually get better.

It is highly unlikely that Paxson will trade his first ever draft pick. In fact, Paxson hasnt traded his other 8 picks either. They are all still on the team.

Paxson is very attached to his players. (the 9 Bulls draft picks who Paxson picked are Hinrich, Gordon, Deng, Duhon, Thomas, Sefolosha, Noah, Gray & Curry)

I'm not trying to trade Kirk. I'm only saying that there is no truth to the story that Sam Smith made up.

I do not dispute that Miller is better than Kirk this season.

99.9% of the columns written by Sam Smith have absolutely no factual information behind them and are essentially the same thing as what's written on the Trade Board. The only difference is that he has incriminating photos of the Chicago Tribune's sports' editor doing silly things with a monkey so he gets paid to write this crap.

I'm with you. Why wouldn't you trade a supposedly pure PG, that takes way too many shots(who's also not that good, and too old to invest in) for a young, defense-oriented, and better shooting PG?

Hinrich will be a better PG in the NBA than Miller. I don't see how you can reason against this.

Why not? I'm not saying that I would pass on Hinrich but Hinrich is 27 years old and is having the worst season of his career which just so happens to be in the first year of his new contract. I would trade for Hinrich but Miller is the better player now and has a chance to be the better player for the next couple of seasons as well.

No Gracias to this deal. Why would we want a guy who shoots 40 percent and hasnt average 7 assists in a season? In the 5 or so years in the league, what makes you think he is going to play even better.

Hinrich's name also has come up in speculation about the 76ers' Andre Miller. I believe Philadelphia would do that deal. But should the Bulls be in the market for aging point guards like Miller, 32 next month, and Kidd? No.

Sam Smith (Trade Board Poster) only mentions that the Bulls should NOT have interest in Miller. Talking about a trade of Miller for Hinrich seems awfully fantastical.

Hinrich would be a nice addition to the Sixers. The Bulls need cap space to resign Gordon and Deng, who make up the core of that team so picking up an close to expiring like Miller without a significant drop off in PG play now would work to their advantage. This trade makes sense on both sides.

Miller is shooting a good FG% this season, but he's shooting 11% from three land!!!! That's an abomination.

Hinrich is at 40% from the field, and 30% from the 3.

We don't necessarily need a PG to average 8-10 assists a game. If he can hit 3's, play D, and run the offense, that's good enough for our team.

BTW Hinrich may not have averaged 7 assists in one season, but Miller is only averaging 6 this season.

Having Hinrich on the floor, would also compliment Lou Will's game, as Hinrich could push Point and guard SG's.

Miller is not an expiring and would not give the Bulls relief for the upcoming season when Deng and Gordon's new deals will kick in. That said, the money issue could be an issue with the Bulls because I believe they will be a borderline tax team if they re-sign both Deng and Gordon to anything near the $10MIL per season that they should get. Also, Chris Duhon is a UFA after this season.

Now Duhon is a realistic option, and he would come much cheaper than Hinrich.
