Five home games vs. five road games

Post#1 » by drsd » Mon Feb 4, 2008 10:00 am

The Magic now hold a 5 1/2 game lead over Washington. Further, the Magic play five home games over that time, whilst Washington plays five on the road (and a sixth game at home against a Western club).

Let's look:
For Orlando
Feb 4 Dallas
Feb 6 New Jersey
Feb 8 LA Lakers
Feb 11 Cleveland
Feb 13 Denver

vs.

For Washington
Feb 5 @ Philadelphia
Feb 6 San Antonio
Feb 8 @ Denver
Feb 10 @ Phoenix
Feb 11 @ Golden State
Feb 13 @ LA Clippers

The Magic are riding a 4 game winning streak and must be favored to win 3 of the above 5. The Wizards are riding a 3 game losing streak, and could lose all 6 games in the coming week; they will lose 4 as a minimum.

After the All Star Week, we can expect the Magic to fully separate from the rest of the South East pack. What I await in the season's second half is if the Magic can catch either Boston or Detroit. In my mind, the Magic are already the playoff's 3 seed. :)

I think we will be 7-7 1/2 games ahead of the Wizards by the break. That is a good enough margin to feel safe about the division title.
