Wallace fills up the defensive stats.... but as much as I hated seeing Kwame play, Kwame and Vlade are worth more than Wallace when they're both healthy.

Paxson: I got Big Ben Wallace for you Mitch!

Mitch: OMG NO WAI? BIG BEN! I'm down with that.

West: Wait don't do it Mitch!

*West calls Wallace*

West: Yo Wallace, get Gasol a Lakers jersey.

Wallace: Okay.

And that's how it really went down if you ask me.

+1

That trade would've actually upset me more than excite me.

Thanks god we didn't do that...

I remember not too long ago some guy on here was trying to convince us all that Big Ben would suddenly get 4 years younger if he were traded here and would put us over the top.

I dont know.. that's like a lateral trade... brown is worse than ben, but we also giving up vlad for someone completely overpaid.

Bynum for kidd - would have been lateral for this season only and after that a complete rip off.

Bynum + odom for Oneal - would have been a steal for indiana and we would be called the idiots and kobe would probably leave (basically complete disaster for lakers)

Vlad - Brown (that's not a typo it is a minus sign) for Ben - Is just a lateral move.
Sasha Vujacic = The Phail Machine = The Ring Blocker

Trade Sasha before he ruins the Lakers next season.

If this is true, it's another "try to win now and keep the 2010 plan going" kinda trade. Thank God it didn't happen.

The biggest disaster about that trade is if we got ben wallace for kwame it would be chicago in the headlines as to getting gasol for like tyrus thomas, kwame, and picks...

It would be Chicago's revival:
C- Noah
PF - Gasol
SF- Deng
SG- Gordon
PG - Hinrich

noicioni off the bench.
Sasha Vujacic = The Phail Machine = The Ring Blocker

Trade Sasha before he ruins the Lakers next season.

Not Chicago saying that, but Heisley:

Heisley also felt the Grizzlies needed to act fast before the Lakers decided to acquire Wallace from the Bulls for Brown and Vladimir Radmanovic.

"Otherwise we'd be like Chicago is today and gotten nothing done," Heisley said. "We were worried that the Lakers might do the deal with Chicago."

article continues that it was likely a smokescreen by LA:
A Bulls source doubted the Lakers had serious interest in acquiring Wallace and wondered if there might be hard feelings between Heisley and Bulls chairman Jerry Reinsdorf.
