L.A. Lakers Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: +15.4 ppg, +1.5 rpg, and +2.5 apg.

Incoming Players
Chris Duhon
6-1 PG from Duke
5.2 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 3.8 apg in 23.1 minutes
Joe Smith
6-10 PF from Maryland
10.1 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 0.8 apg in 21.5 minutes
Andres Nocioni
6-7 SF from Argentina (Foreign)
14.5 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 1.4 apg in 26.6 minutes

Outgoing Players
Coby Karl
6-5 SG from Boise State
1.2 ppg, 0.8 rpg, 0.4 apg in 3.4 minutes
Lamar Odom
6-10 SF from Rhode Island
13.2 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 3.1 apg in 36.8 minutes

Why for Lakers? Joe Smith is a solid veteran big man, and he could play next to either Gasol or Bynum. His 5 mil comes off the books after next season. Nocioni is another very good SF/PF, who can start or make the ideal 6th man. Very good slasher, 3pt shooter and is a master at "flopping"/taking a charge. Chris Duhon is an expiring contract but is a solid backup, pure PG with solid D.

Why for Bulls? Maybe John Paxson learns his lesson this time around, and will figure out how to use an expiring contract (failed to do so with PJ Brown last year) in a trade to improve the team. Bulls missed out on Gasol this year, but next year another firesale could very well happen, and its best to be prepared for that situation, to help that team with cap relief. Odom expires after next season.

isn't the general concensus (sp) on Nocioni is his lack of defense? Maybe even less than Lamar? Don't really see him a lot but doesn't he just flop?
