The New York Knicks and Philadephia 76ers have a blockbuster trade to announce.

The Knicks trade:
David Lee
Malik Rose
Randolph Morris
2008 1st rounder (with no protections)

The 76ers trade:
Samuel Dalemburt
Herbert Hill
Clevelands 2010 first rounder (top 3 protected...aquired in the Andre Miller trade)

The Knicks accept this deal. It was a painful one to make but along with point guard our other glaring weakness was post defense and shotblocking. Dalembert is the ideal player to help us out there.

It seems as if a technical issue regarding the pick it seems as if the deal is dead unless something changes.

I'm not sure that you can trade a draft pick when you already owe one. Even if you will have the pick due to protections, I'm not sure you can trade it.

Yea I was talking to bryant08 online. It seems Utah's rights to the pick need to be protected in the event the Knicks go 31-4 for the rest of the season. Damn technicallity. :banghead:

You can't trade the pick, not because you would not have it this year, but really because if you trade the pick this year then you still owe it to the other team next year you would be violating the trading consecutive picks rule. A deal like this can only happen by trading the draft rights on draft night to the other team.

You guys just wanna keep me out cause you know if you gave me a team, Id destroy everyone.

Youd rather have Gms that give away their players for pennies on the dollar, you cant hang with a "REALGM"

I understand but in reality Utah isn't getting the pick until 2010. This year the pick is top 23 protected and next year its top 22 protected.

You never know that Utah is gonna get it in 2009. who knows, the NYN somehow become a top 8 team.. that way, the pick would go to Utah.. so we can't just assume stuff here I suppose. Although I don't expect Isiah to do such a good job. lol

The Houston Rockets and Memphis Grizzlies have agreed upon a trade.

Houston Incoming
Mike Miller
Kyle Lowry
Hakim Warrick

Memphis Incoming
Shane Battier
Steve Francis
Steve Novak
Houston 2008 1st (Top 5 protected)

Houston accepts, and though we are very sad to lose Battier and his defensive capabilities, we are very excited to add that third option this team has been looking for the past couple years in Mike Miller who is also a very underrated all around player currently averaging 17 points per game, 7 rebounds per game, 4 assists per game on a mind-boggling 50% from the field, and 43% from three. He should thrive with all the open looks with the attention focused on McGrady and Yao.

Also kind of bummed to use my first round pick on a non PG, but Lowry is a definite legit backup PG which allows Brooks to go on the block and a package of a players to get a real starting PG.

Not to mention, I have another deal pretty close in place to acquire another player that can at least replace the defensive void at the wing positions.

Memphis excitedly accepts!!!

Battier is back to be the leader of the team, and I end up with a mid first rd pick.
