Petty=B List
Prince=Music Legend

Good performance by Petty but he didn't really sing much.

Paul McCartney's entire performance was lip-synced.

Just for the record, Tom Petty is awesome too. At least "Free Falling" is.

McCartney's performance was bland. As was Petty's for the most part (I'm not a fan of either). If they should ever have another classic rock halftime performance, it should be Pink Floyd. Everybody loves the Floyd. But that's just my opinion.

I know Ashlee Simpson wouldn't have lip synched.

Plus, I think I saw her sister Jess chasing Eli across the field after the game.

Floyd would be good, but my choice would be Bruce Springstein & the E Street Band.

If you could choose any band of any kind to play the SB halftime, who would it be?

Pink Floyd, Buckethead, or the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Zeppelin would be a good one.

It would be cool to see Frusciante and Flea in a halftime show, but Kiedis should be strictly lip synching if the Chili Peppers ever got on there. His voice in concert is crap imo

Zeppelin might work timewise as well. They were all pleased with the recent one-off show in London. Robert Plant is committed to touring with Alison Kraus until September. Super Bowl XLIII would be a good way to kick off a tour if they decide to do one.

Spruce Bingsteen would be a very good choice.

Floyd I'm not so sure about, not for superbowl halftime anyway

Eric Clapton! He's A list.

P-funk. But halftime would last 4 and a half hours. On the other hand **** the second half.

Prince was the best so far, but I did like TPetty. Dude looks and sounds more and more like Bob Dylan, but somehow it works for him.

my goodness i just read that whole thread now.

first off. you are not a member of the traveling wilburys as a f**king B-Lister.

second off. prince is a-list and borderline babe ruth.

third off, led zep is basically like god himself in rock band form.

so i dunno what kind of conversation this devolved into but tom petty is worthy halftime performer.

being a DC guy and all that I had another idea

Little Feat

not that well known at this point in time

but one of the best live acts I've seen, in RnR music at least.

yeah, I know it would never happen.

How about the Allman Bros? I think they'd be real close to the
top of my list.
