And now we have Pau added to our lineup which today I am a lot happier that we didnt get the K.G ticket since I think Pau is a better fit in the Tri Offense of the Lakers than K.G would have been .

I can't agree there. I'd rather have KG with all else being equal. But seeing what we had to give up to get Gasol (basically nothing) then I'm fine with him.

Nope, Odom is a much better facillatator than Pau, and Pau will get Odom loads of assists.

JHTRUTH - you're absolutly right.

but because of chemistry issues and especially the current injury situation, that's only going to happen in the offseason - because for the time being (bynum, mihm, and ariza out) - odom's versatilty and ability to play pf is something we can't give up.

the only thing we now need odom to do (when the big line up is healthy), is his biggest weakness - shoot the long ball consistently.
luckily - he's talented enough to hold his own doing some other stuff for the time being.
but to perfect this line up - he'll be moved next summer for a battier type player.

People were discussing the Lakers possibly being the best team in the West/league. The Celtics totally shut them down and shut up the critics. Do I think that adding Pau Gasol is enough to make up the difference between the Cs and the Lakers that we saw in those 2 games? No way.

See its childish remarks like this that draws negative replies .

Mopped the floor with the Lakers .........Okay ...........

All I can say is that I do hope both of these teams make it to the finals , so we can see if you can MOPP the floor with the Lakers again .

Good one , so much for trying to be respectfull .

I guess only time can tell .

the Lakers offered Odom & Bynum to McHell for KG, (career: 22pnts / 11 rbnds)

to get Pau Gasol (career: 18 pnts 9 rbnds), the Lakers basically gave up people who were NOT major contributors

The Lakers kept Bynum and Odom, both key contributors and Pau is 5 years younger than KG and can play Center, so while there is no doubt that KG will be a hall-of-famer (and Pau most likely won't), the Pau deal, is a MUCH BETTER DEAL for the Lakers!

Actually mopped is an understatement. More like Wreckstroyed. Because we Wrecked and Destroyed them.

You beat a young team that was just starting to gel together with a veteran led roster. Congrats, but guess what we beat the Wizards cleanly and they beat you twice.

It means virtually nothing since the Laker's dynamic has changed once again.

At full strength it's a close matchup.

I agree - it's going to be real hard to beat the lakers if you let them stay close.. Down the stretch Kobe can just drive to the basket and pick up non-stop fouls. Guys will have to stay home with Gasol and Bynum out there..

There is no transitive property in basketball. Minnesota has beat Phoenix twice. Does that mean that any team that has beat Minnesota is better than Phoenix? Of course not. Furthermore, our starting point guard in the 2nd Washington win was out. In the first win he attempted to play but only managed to log 20 minutes. I'm sure I could easily find a team that has beaten the Lakers twice, who the Celtics have won against, but then again I don't have to, since we already made you look like a Rec team twice this year.

Eh. those old games don't matter. They have Gasol now. He is a difference maker. I think that the C's are going to have to work to make sure they don't fall behind LA in overall record as I don't see LA losing hardly at all in the second half.

I hate the Celtics but I definitely have respect for them. KG-PP-RA and Rondo.. that's a contender and they have been playing some good basketball together. I'd also like to see KG finally get a ring as he is a very hardworking and dedicated individual.

I'm happy that we got Gasol, but Celts and Spurs should not be taken lightly. In fact, I won't be surprised if the Celts win it all this year. HOWEVER, I would expect that the Lakers Dynasty will start next year.. and go on for years to come.

This is the most level headed post from a Lakers fan since the Pau trade. The Laker Kid is welcome to post around here any time. Looks like someone understands the importance of defense for a championship team.

Lol, that was pretty funny. Mutch better video with KG though and much better chance of making this statement:

Where dynasty happens

true.

Seriously, I was beginning to think that Toronto and New York collided and exploded all over LA to create the most (Please Use More Appropriate Word) sports city ever. It's good to know that there are people out there that think logically.

which is why we were 1st in the WC before bynum went down.

you beat us twice this year. i dont count the first one because we hadn't come together yet. in the second one, perkins killed bynum. he had like 20 points and shut down bynum. no way in hell will he do that on a consistent basis, so i'm not worried. scrubs like perkins see their stats revert to the mean.

Perkins scored 20 points in the 1st game against LA, not the 2nd one.

In the 2nd one, Pierce **** all over the Lakers like he always does and the Celtics rolled to an easy 20 point win where the Lakers got frustrated that the Celtics were so much better and Lamar Odom tried to cheap shot Ray Allen.
