Odom gets too much hate lately...

He is so much better than Haslem it isn't even funny.

Odom's the better player. Haslem's the better role player, and is a better fit next to dominant big guys like what used to be Shaquille O'Neal, Yao Ming, and Dwight etc.

Why do you say that? Odom is unselfish, can clean up the boards, and get that big guy easy buckets.

Odom is better but he's also inconsistent, cannot space the floor, and he's pretty dumb sometimes.

As someone mentioned before Haslem is better in a set offense with a big man .. he was a key contributer with those money mid-range jumpers, cut's well, and at times playes excellent D...

You take Odom because he really is the better player but for those people who think it shouldn't even be a question have to watch some laker games to see it .. he'll give you 20 or 21 one night and dissapear the next couple giving you 7's, 9's, and 12- to 13 which isn't bad but not very consistent when this team has asked you to be a 2nd option ..

Plus the reason more Laker fans would take Haslem is because Odom is making about 14 mill to be a bonehead and have once in a while good games ..

i dont know exactly how much Haslem is paid but at his price and what he can contribute (which would be he seems to be the type that would benifit from the triangle more) so if people could just switch them places and Miami could maybe have Odom find his shot again over there and haslem could learn to pass from the post and the open J and also play that solid D he is capable of ... i think we do it

But not now ... Laker's are now set with Gasol and Bynum anchoring the paint and Kobe doing what he does .... Odom just needs to worry now on hitting open shot's and Rebounding with that great front line we now have

I had been watching heat games couple of times before the trade to see Haslem and the dude is epitome of consistency. He plays defense, hustles and boy is his jumper money. He's a guy you need for a championship team. Odom on the other hand, he has the all the potential to be an allstar but come on folks, its been three years and he has been declining in production, even back than he would have given you almost triple double games inconsistently, but now he doesn't even give you double double in 40 minutes. On top of that he's defense is pathetic. ANd DUMB. Now what are we comparing here? Are we comparing their potential or their actual play?

Exactly!

Odom is a player very capable of running a team through, and obviously so. He anchored Miami's team for many parts during the season in 2003/2004, as he did in LA when Kobe was out that season, and also to start the season off last year, even WITH Kobe on the team; getting back from injury.

Haslem, as great of a player as he is, is a supplemental role player, who plays to his role; rebound, defend, effort, and score when given the shot; and he excels in that. But, he's not the same player Odom is/was for LA/Miami.....

Odom's the better overall player here.

Haslem also cleans up the boards and is unselfish (though not anywhere near the passer Odom is). But for instance, Odom doesn't really do much in the line of hustling and taking charges, something that helps keep a C out of foul trouble and rested. Haslem's ability to knock down the midrange also complements the big guy well. Odom's a little inconsistent with his shot. He's the better player, but Haslem's definitely better next to a dominant big guy. Replace Haslem with Odom on our championship team and we get torched by Dirk in the Finals and lose.

Completely agree. I like Odom and these threads are just so disrespectful, no disrespect to Haslem.
