anyone watching the denver portland game? best game ive seen all season.
after watching this game i really dont think we will nor do we deserve to make the playoffs. these guys are the guys we're competing with and they simply play so much harder than we do. more energy. more toughness both physical and mental. more hustle.

Disappointed at Yao's recent sucky games.

I doubt he will play well against big Z. He never shot a good % against Z.

So just on one you game, you think Rockets don't deserve? :banghead:

Guess you miss some games when nuggets/blazers played sloppily

With the loss, Rockets is now 9th spot, 1 game behind 8th spot (Warrior), 1.5 game behind 7th (Nuggets), 2.5 games behind 6th (Spurs).

im not basing it on just one game. but....this is a very important game for both the blazers and nuggets and they both played like it. look i love the rockets just as much as you do but there is no denying that we lack mental toughness and this drive to the playoffs is gona come down to exactly that cuz we're gona play each other so much. we still got two more games against utah, two more against denver, two more against portland, three more against new orleans and thank god just one more against golden state.

Ya but you forgot about Rockets' gutsy win over Warrior? How their win over Blazers? Their win over Spurs? That's why i say you based it on one game in term of Rocket's desire and mental toughness. These away games though important to Rockets is of different intensity between playing against the team you are competing in the PO race.

u do notice we just manhandled the blazers on their homecourt when tmac was still playing injured right? straight up manhandling.

u also know we blew out the nuggets at home with tracy and BARELY lost to them in dever without tracy right?

u shouldn't worry about those 2 teams. even if we keep playing like we are right now, we can beat them pretty easily.

when u have to face the bucks, wolves... and in arenas that are as quiet as my garage, u just have to fight through

You know this game should have been a blowout and we missed so many opportunities to blow this team out tonight. But there it is a good feeling when you can shut up a young and cocky team. When you can show them victory and snatch it heartlessly from them. I dunno...that win felt good in that sense b/c they were on the brink of their best run of the season and then McGrady and Rockets defense just took it from them mercilessly.

We beat 3 bad teams...it wasn't pretty but we got the job done. The Cavs are gonna be a big test with LeBron's ability to get off on national TV. The other games though aren't that difficult. This is a good chance to get a long win streak going. We haven't had one of those with this Rocket team ever I don't think. I think the longest was 8. Hopefully we can match that at least with this upcoming homestand.

i don't know why people are complaining
we win the games we are supposely to win
or do you rather see us lost to them? (like those two games against Philly)
you can't blowout every bad team
you don't see the best team like Boston, San Antonio, Phoenix, Dallas do that very often either

No but they don't squander opportunities to do it either. I like the win tonight. That was a team on a roll and young and in their gym.

My point is we have had opportunities in all 3 games to blow the other team out but we end up shooting ourselves in the foot with porous D or careless turnovers or missed open shots. I am saying that while Boston, SA etc may not blow out every bad team...when they have them down 10...but they finish them.

Anyone who can explain why Yao was on Al J. all night?

Wouldn't that be the perfect assignment for our (slightly) undersized PFs?

When Doleac is in the game Yao should get him for the breather, and the increased freedom on help D. A lot of Als points came of off rebs and drop offs when Yao went to help.

The offense I liked the best in this game, was the stretch where it was running through Yao and Scola inside... they are starting to get some chemestry going.

Yeah I was confused by that as well... especially since there were stretches where Craig Smith and Big Al were in the game at the same time and Yao was still guarding Al.

Of course it does not excuse him getting abused Boozer-style, but still you'd think Adelman would try to let Yao guard Al Jeff in stretches, like he does with Duncan.

Maybe Adelman is just trying to make it tough on him , try to let him find a way to guard those quick power forwards the best way he can in a game we probably gonna win anyway.
Because when we gonna face Yao will have to guard Boozer again.
I think we should reduce Yao's minutes a little , lately he seems a little tired and can't figt for position like before.

I say we play Mike James big mins, just so he can score a lot of points, so then his value would go up, therefore trade him for Vince Carter ;)
