Raptor fan here. Love AK's game, but just to play Devil's advocate, I could see the logic of moving AK. You guys have Boozer, Okur, Deron and Millsap all becoming FA after next season. There is no way the Jazz will be able to keep all these guys without going over the luxury tax threshold.

Just as an estimate.

Okur will ask for around 10 per year
Boozer will ask for 15 a year
Deron gets Max around 13 a year
Millsap MLE at that time is 7 a year

first off the MLE starts at 5 mil and he wont make more then probably 6.5 near the end. Memo wont be resigned after his current contract. No offense to Memo, but he is slowly becoming over paid, unless he takes a serious hometown discount (basically what Harpring signed for) he wont be back.

I think AK and Memo *would* take hometown discount if they feal that Deron and Boozer is a championship caliber combo, giving the money to the young privates - Millsap and Brewer. I could be wrong, but I'm Russian. I hope, at least, AK will do this.

I'll take a player with an attitude roadblock vs a skill roadblock any day. Odom works hard, but simply is nowhere near the same caliber player AK can be when hes putting forth the effort.
