Lucas: "Chris Bosh reminds me so much of David Robinson

Post#1 » by G-UNIT » Tue Feb 5, 2008 12:05 pm

When i heard that last night, i was like wow, he is right. 6"11 - 7", long lanky more of a perimeter player, but i think the admiral is better defensively while bosh is better offensively. What a great compliment for CB4 though. Thoughts?

well it's was better for him to say that rather than what some raptors fans were saying earlier in the season..... he is not a franchise player..... he is not one of the best power forward in league.

Bosh is nowhere near the admiral in his prime offensively. Until Bosh can score 30ppg on 50% shooting then Bosh won't ever be the better offensive player.

I don't really see it in their games or physique. David Robinson was a tremendous athlete and was strong, players like him came once in a decade. Bosh is a great athlete too but he's really not strong. However I can see some similarities in their personality.

Hmm, so does that mean we need to wait for a Tim Duncan before we'll win a championship? Is that Andrea?

i'd have to disagree somewhat, Bosh can score 30 a night if he had to. He is better than the admiral at drawing fouls and driving to the hole. But thats my opinion.

That's only on any given night, Robinson did this for an entire season.

we have a tony parker already (TJ or jose)
now we need a defensive stopper (Bowen = ?)
and a SF slasher (Manu = ?)

D-Rob scored 70+ points in a game once - just to give you an idea of how good he was offensively (and not just defensively).

100% for sure....
It was also a diff league back then, more high scoring than it is now i believe.

Im just sayin its a great compliment to CB4, its an honour to be mentioned in the same breath as the admiral, a former League MVP, one of my fave players from back in the day.

They are both lefties. Both can the shot outside and drive the bucket. Bosh is certainly quicker to the basket with a more varied repetoire. Whereas Robinson has a bit more power to the game . Robinson is a better defender and a tremendous shot blocker.

Is Bosh capable of scoring 70+ points in a game?

It's a nice complement, but I honestly don't see much of Robinson's game in Bosh.

I understand they are both tall lean guys that like to score inside, but Robinson was one of the best centers ever to play the game.

what a bad comparison. David Robinson was big and strong and RIPPED. Bosh is like a twig. robinson had way more power to his game

Comparisons, schomparisons

Chris Bosh is the next Chris Bosh. Maybe Lucas is comparing Bosh to the Admiral based on offensive skills. Statistically, it will be very hard to see Bosh average 30ppg in a season, but so far this season he has shown that he can score 30+ points with ease.

maybe its not the game he's comparing, maybe its the quiet leadership.

Doug Collins has made the same comparison in the past. I think it's because they're both lefty bigmen who can shoot and drive

Bargs will be an all-star while Bosh averages 10/6 in Miami

I agree nothing resembles Bosh to Admiral in my opinion.

Maybe his observation was based on seeing that "Blane" video.

Apart from physical differences and similarities, they both exude quiet leadership abilities. But Admiral was such a straight arrow military guy, while Bosh is trying to transition from computer geek to cool b-boy.
