Who's going to be the new mod?

Post#1 » by DorfonCeltics » Tue Feb 5, 2008 4:38 pm

I was wondering if the Global Mods have started to discuss a replacement mod for Darth Celtic here at RealGM Celtics. I was also interested in who the posters here felt deserved the sport the most. I think important criteria to take into consideration are tenure posting here, respect they show other posters, and the ability to diffuse sticky situations.

My suggestions would be Wigglestrue, Elro Enchilada, Sully00, and CalderCup.

I just bumped into Curm (curmudgeon), I think the antiDarth from a couple of years ago on the Seattle board. I'd vote for him and miss him on this board. Nice to have a counterpoint.....

I am sorry but Curm is the exact opposite of what we need as a mod. We need someone who is levelheaded. Someone who wont let their personal agenda get in the way of being fair as a mod.

+1

Haha, that had to have been a joke right?

HAC, Darth desided to retire as a mod because he was fed up with all the BS that goes into being a mod. They might not even replace him since we still have 6 mods and that is probably enough. However, they might be doing interviews as we speak. Any of the current mods care to comment on this topic? I'm surprised it's gotten so little response.

We constantly look for possible future mods and we will monitor the situation if we need to add somebody else. Sorry I can't provide information either saying yes or no.

No worries Sunshine. Like you said, I don't there needs to be a rush to replace Darth with another mod I just thought it would be nice to get some ideas from the overall community.

I saw this thread earlier and decided not to lock it in case people provided some good ideas, however its really an internal process, while suggestions can be helpful, there is a moderators board where this type of thing is discussed and its really not fair for some people for us to publicly discuess why these people might not be good moderaters as the above comments about Curm demonstrate (and the guy who suggested that REALY?) that it would lead to posters flaws and shortcomings being discussed in an open forum and thats really what we are trying not to do. If there comes a need to have another mod, the candidates will be PM'd.

If you do want to vote in something today though, its super tuesday, I am about to go vote in the primary here in AZ. Go Obama.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Dorfon and EB, but me a mod, prbly a bad idea.

Reasons why I'd suck as a moderator:

* anarchism
* naked time
* mandatory board colonic(s)
* wet t-shirt contests
* spiked punch
* loss of your sisters virginity
* smoke filled green rooms
* an unhealthy sneaker obsession

Also, I'd probably abuse the power. Stuff like, taking your mom out for a nice seafood dinner. And then I don't call her the next day. I'm a real prick like that.

:D

And how would that make you suck as a moderator?

I have to say there are a lot of deserving people on this board, and it is a tough choice to make. The last few times a mod was chosen a mod on this board shows that is the case.

Is there really a big need for another mod? I don't really pay much attention to the politics of RealGM, but there don't generally seem to be many problems on the Celtics board.

Forget having Mod's my friends. Lets run free my children. We can roll around together in the fields with no restrictions of clothing of any kind.

You must not have a mom or a sister.

Also, imo Cfan's moobs make him a clear cut favorite to dominate the wet t-shirt contests. It's biased predictions like that which can hurt the general objectivity of a board.

I knew that someone was secretly filming me. You know you want to see them in person C-Cup.

Agreed. It seems there are far fewer needlessly antagonistic and heavy-handed encounters now.

The best thing about Darth was that he didn`t tolerate any trolling! We need another mod like him...
