History for the Raps (Game 1000)

Post#1 » by Silk Wilkes » Tue Feb 5, 2008 5:49 pm

I realize that the LA Clippers game thread is up but I think this deserves it's own thread.

The next game versus the Clippers will be game number 1000 in Raptors history!

No... this time it will be Calderon hitting the game winning shot, representing a changing of the guard.

<Commence Calderon better than TJ debate>

So you first make a comment at the beginning of a thread that could lead to a flamefest and then move on to backseat moderating because your comment might not be ignored and say the thread should be locked. Well done.

I think this thread could have some excellent discussion, say, fans reminiscing about memorable games in that 1000.

Public warning for being disruptive and backseat moderating. -Shaazzzam

Most exciting game I've been to in recent years was Seattle last season.

Took my bro who had flown in from Oregon and is a massive Ray Ray fan(like me.) Never been to an NBA game with him. We had seats right behind the rim and when CB4 did that wraparound layup-sprint back for the block I almost lost my mind. AB with the four point play, Ray Ray with the daggers and the Raps with the W.

Awesome, awesome game. Great memories.

Biggest kick in the nards in recent years was when my buddy took me to the game against the Nets where Mo got tossed after the slapfest with VC after holding him downand then VC hit the shot in OT after a couple missed FT's to win the game. GRRRR.

And then my buddy realized he had lost his wallet.

Unless you mean the Toronto Huskies uniform, then please God, no.

Those uniforms should be burned, then their ashes vaporized into dust, then the dust should be shot out into deep space, then destroyed with a nuclear missile.

I can honestly say that I have never seen jerseys worse than the ones the Toronto Raptors were born into.

Considering all the times you've been warned for posting IBTL and baiting mods I'm not surprised you'd offer your 2 cents. :wavefinger:

-Memories of that half court heave in the playoff round 1 by chris childs where he forgot how much time was left. (bastard)

-Memories of damon stoudamire (mighty mouse) nike commercials. and I got the shoes still in my closet.

-Memories of Vince with facials and dunkage on the entire league except Shaq....who threw him to the floor for trying to get in the lane.

-Memories of Tracy Murray being our first 3pt specialist.

-Memories of blaming the entire franchises demise on ARUAJO!!!!!

-Memories of keon clark dunking over the New york knicks and Shawn bradley!

-Memories of Jon Wallace and his unstoppable fade away in the paint!!

-Memories of our best defender Doub Christie!

-Memories of iverson crowning Marcus camby off the put back at Maple leaf gardens!!

-Memories of vince torching Ray allen after not getting chosen for the Olympic team.

Those socks were awesome.

And I loved Christie, except when he would take his inevitable "my turn" shots.

The playoff series between the Raps and the Sixers...just an epic battle between Vince and AI. The summer after that, when the future looked so bright!

Antonio Davis and his crack about the Metric system...hahahah

Return to Toronto Raptors
