IIRC Brent Barry was an incredible three shooter with the short lived new basketball. He was the only shooter who really liked that thing.

Before people say this is because of Kobe, he gets 8.8 Attempts per game and Bosh gets 8.6 per game. The next highest player on the Raps gets 2.7 which is TJ Ford and after that is Bargs with 2.0 per game. Ford would be 7th on the Lakers and Bargs would be 9th.

3's are good and all but without toughness, putting pressure on teams and getting them into foul trouble, being able to make up for bad shooting nights by getting to the line you will never win anything.

and btw why are you always trying to compare the lakers and the raps? lakers are better and everyone knows that but you're making yourself look bad with posts like these.

Brent Barry is an exceptional shooter anyway... he's a career 40.7% shooter from downtown.

Pat Riley on the Raptors: "They're the best shooting team in the league."

Them guys are lights out. With Bargnani regaining form of late it's going to be really fun to watch them for the rest of the year and the playoffs. They still have a shot at 3rd in the East too.

What's really crazy is there seems to be a small improvement in 3 point shooting throughout the league from last year to this year - seems like about 0.5% more of the three pointers are going in.

I feel the same way. It's probably because teams are running more and players get more open.

Raptors would have to be the #1 team.

That Boston game (112-110?) had to be the best of the year.

Celtics did everything but win that one.

Its really a fun team to watch because even if theyre down 7-12 points in the 4th, you know theres a big chance of them splashing 2 three pointers in a row and then getting a steal (they out-steal and cause more turn-overs than they commit) and grabbing the lead. Makes it easy to be a fan. :clap:

Also, about the free throw thing, Raptors are 2nd in the league percentage wise but theyre close to the bottom in attempts...however...

OPPONENTS for the season: 970 FTA, 993 3PA (+23 for FTs)
RAPTORS for the season: 939 FTA, 856 FTA (+83 for FTs)

This agrees with the "Raptors play a slower pace" but they attempt more FGs than their opponents as well (3832:2758). This confuses me...
