I can see it coming: Derrick Rose Related..

The Grizzlies will get a top 3 pick in the draft and with Beasley off the Board, the grizzlies will be in a position to select the Memphis phenom, but will decline to do so because they have three young point guards..

Rose will go on to be a perenial All-star and All NBA (1st or second with Paul) in his prime and the Grizzlies will be upset..

As opposed to Drafting Rose and trading Conley and Critt to teams for draft selections..

Build around Gay/Rose/and the free agent/ Milicic..

The lottery pick acquired for Conley..

I see it coming.. you will pass on a star..

You really need to work on some new material.

Beasley or bust...

Actually...I don't see this happening at all.

If Derrick Rose is on the board and Memphis is up, they will select Derrick Rose

Really, there is no question about it. They've just moved one their prized possesion in Gasol in a Free fall Firesale. With that being said, if they have a a chance to bring in hometown fans, they will, no questions asked. The chances of the team acquiring a high-profile talent through free agency is pretty slim in my opinion. Let's face it, Memphis is no NYC.

Unfortunately it means that the other PG's will be moved but do you really see memphis having a problem finding suitors for either Conley/Lowry/Navarro???

Kevin Pritchard would be inclined to give up anything outside of his Trio of Aldridge/Oden/Roy to Land Conley. That could land you Channing Frye/Travis Outlaw/Jarrett Jack if done properly. So picking who your PG of the future is going to be is a great problem to have. I bet Atlanta/Orlando/Sacramento/Denver/LA Clips would love to have this problem!

Call me crazy but a backcourt of Javaris Crittenton and Derrick Rose is a little enticing... :)

It can't be said with certainty at this point whether or not anything the OP claims will occur. This thread is nothing more than a declaration of the extent of a man-crush on Rose, possessed by a particular poster, that is only tangentially related to a current event. It's connection is so attentuated that I'm surprised it hasn't been locked - is there really any possible way that this "topic" can be discussed?

Well there us something here. Rose is going to be good. There is something to be said for a pass first PG like Conley and there is something to be said for a PG that will physically dominate his opponents like Deron Williams. Neither answer is wrong. Depends on where our pick lands and what Conley could bring in trade.
