good for him. i like that he's gettin mad at the shafting he's getting.

as for tonight's game, with the benefit of hindsight, perhaps if we come up against someone like Howard who's knocking down shots, contested or not, that we should take the chance on trying to match his firepower with JJ's? not the entire game, but for spurts? there couldn't have been much difference in points for and against if Bogan's 0-3 shooting was swapped with JJ knocking down 1,2 or maybe even all 3 of those OR merely creating room for Hedo, Lewis or Howard to take a better shot. even if Josh scored a basket or two extra in that time, it'd still be equal, but we'd have the momentum of shots made.

PLUS, SVG is saying that he needs to find a way to get the offense starting earlier and creating more shots for Lewis, Hedo and Howard. here's an idea..... try the guy on the bench who commands respect from his defender, can hit shots and can find the open man???

side note, i'm becoming more and more enamoured with Mo Ev the longer the season goes on and hope he comes back next season. i think he's a great addition and i'll give Otis credit on picking him up. Bogans on the other hand just seems to fade farther off the map with every game. he's seriously slumped BADLY since the season began.

Nelson hasn't really earned or "earned" anything over the last few games. Carlos in the other hand ...

Isn't he injured?

From the Sentinel:
Although healthy, Jameer Nelson did not play in his second consecutive game, the decision all Van Gundy's.

So he was indeed healthy. Didn't know. I thought he wasn't playing because he was still a little bothered by the injury or wasn't in good shape/conditioning yet or something.

Missed layups, stupid turnovers.

We could have won the game, but it just wasn't our night. Almost any other night we would have beat Dallas.

Yea i agree it was just one of those nights. You could tell from the beggining. They werent missing anything. Dallas made soooooooo many shots, and crazy ones too. I just knew we werent gonna win when Josh Howard chased that ball down on the back court and threw an off balance 3 off the glass to beat the shot clock. That play would work like once in 10 times if even that. Then Dwight had the steal on Terry i think but somehow Dallas ended up with it and scored plus the foul. It was just that type of game. The loose balls all went their way mostly. But had the Magic rebounded better, not that there were that many rebounds because they couldnt miss, but had they rebounder better they could of won. They were only down by 3 late but we ran out of gas and Dallas made impossible shots. The horrible start was the real killer though, it was uphill all game. And i was surprised to see Hedo had a triple double, didnt notice it being there at the arena. But our offense had no flow today.

Another thing i noticed, Dwight was really lazy on defense and reboudning. Yes he scored 27 but he had no energy on defense. He was just standing around mostly and not playing the intense defense that we need. His rebounding was atrocious. The effort just wasent there and Dallas was angry. He is the leader of the team and he has to bring it from the beggining. No suprise they got off to a very slow start.

2) Hedo did not have a great game. His poor shooting was the reason the Magic lost.

3) Howard's FT shooting is why the Magic were not in breathing distance.

4) Yuck.

1) I don't know. We haven't been given any reasonable explanation of why he doesn't have it.

2) For us to win, Hedo would have had to hit 5 of his missed shots. that would have made him 9 for 14. Yeah, if he expects to be an all-star he ought to be shooting that.

3) Dwight's complete lack of defensive effort was the biggest reason we lost. If he had hit all of his free throws we still would have lost.

One bright spot in this game for me was the defense of Cook on Dirk. He really stopped him.

THis is of course why I used quotes :)

Let's combine 2 and 3. If Hedo goes 7-14 (or even 6-14 and Lewis 6-16) AND Howard goes 9-13 from the stripe, this is a game.

The Magic lost this on the offensive end. But could have regained it by as you mention more focus from Howard. As one example, 3 offensive boards could have taken the Magic to shouting distance.

The Magic played a bad game that they still could have won. Winning bad games is what great teams do. The Magic on this day were not great.

We've not heard one, but perhaps he's not 100% and the team would prefer to wait as long as possible. :dontknow:

If we're doing "well enough" at this point, why rush him back only to cause future issues.

Agreed. He's got the court sense allowing him to find the hole in the defense underneath the rim for an easy dunk. This seems to have happened once or twice a game every time he's started for us.

The TV caught Bogans flinging the towel over JJ's right shoulder and he just threw it down. No clue why.

I thought we put in a good effort to get ourselves back into the game, it seemed like the crowd was waiting for that to happen, and it finally did. We hung around for a little bit, but the effort to close out the game was just pathetic.

Josh Howard...all I can say is the dude is a bastard by hitting those unbelievable contested shots. I thought for sure he shot 80% before looking at the boxscore. He could not miss a shot at all, despite Evans playing very very good defense on him. Jason Terry killed us too.

Hedo's 4 missed layup really ticked me off and could of made a huge difference, I think one of them was during our "comeback" which could have been a game changer. He did have a very nice triple double though.

Dallas just played better than us, and you knew this type of game was coming from them after getting drilled in Detroit yesterday. I won't get too mad over this game.

Highlight of the night: Meeting up and talking with MoGrAdY again

I think dat would be everyones highlight, meetin me. Naw but really dat was fun man, even doh dem kids behind was close to gettin cut up by my Mom. I was gonna call you cus you could sat wit us haha.

I like how Chris Tucker shot one of the T-shirts into the crowd, but too bad it didn't land in our section.
