OT: Things getting uglier between the Bucks and Charlie V

"I don't really care, coming off the bench," Villanueva said. "I've done it before. My thing is, use me, you know."

Villanueva scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds in 18 minutes Saturday, but he was disappointed to return to the bench for the decisive stage of the game.

He scored two dunks and a tip shot early in the fourth quarter, but Villanueva exited with 5:45 remaining (Houston led, 74-70) as Yi returned to the game.

With so much interest in the game in China, it was understandable that Yi returned to the lineup, but Villanueva was not feeling too good while watching from the bench.

"I don't really care who's watching or not," Villanueva said. "I want to win basketball games. That's what it's about.

This comes after the Rockets-Bucks game where the game was close midway through the 4th after CV had kept his team in the game with putbacks and dunks, Yi had a horrible night going 1 for 10 from the feild and getting abused on both ends of the floor. He still got to come into the game in the 4th for CV who was pissed at being subbed out. He even called out the coaches after tha game on a radio show questioning their substitution patterns.

Unfortunately this will get played like Charlie V is difficult and only interested about himself.

But he is absolutely correct. There is no f-ing way he should have been taken out of the game. Greater powers dictate the substitution patterns of the Milwaukee Bucks, and nobody wants to admit it.

Well I'm glad Charlie is speaking up about it, because to be honest it is completely ridiculous. Yi is getting mins when he should be riding the pine. Charlie comes out and hustles and puts points up and rebounds and then gets subbed out only to see the team struggle again with Yi in.

I hope Charlie either gets to play or goes somewhere where the organization doesn't have promises made to Chinese mafia

whats even funnier is that Yi had injured his shoulder in the first half and wasn't able to lift it full motion after it and even then got to come back in the game. Its like the Bucks wanted to just ride the revenue and television ratings without worrying about winning the game. Good for them that they lost the game.

Maybe, maybe. There are some assets on that team with big contracts. Maybe they get creative with them after getting some more talent in the draft?

Or maybe they are simply screwed.

Charlie's absolutely right. I'm glad he's speaking up about this. Yi really shouldn't be getting the playing time he is, but it likely had to do with negotiations with his agent and chinese officials. CV's getting a raw deal, and I'd love to see him go somewhere where he can help.

With his value at a low, could we get him back on the cheap without giving up any major assets?

Say what? Charlie? Hustling? That would be a first.

Based on this post, you'd think that Charlie was actually earning more minutes? He's shooting a poor percentage for a big man, I've heard Bucks fans complain about his poor shot selection, we all know that he doesn't guard anyone or always hustle so why does he think he deserves to start?

From where I sit, Yi is a similar player right now, plays harder and has far more future potential. Maybe they should be splitting minutes but it's certainly no great crime that Yi plays more.

I wonder if they are sceptical about dealing with BC again? He seemed to fleece them before and they seem ripe for the picking now... I'm sure he could rip them off... Again.

I don't see why we can't get him back. Dixon and Graham for Charlie and someone else...I unno...

But any move we make where we are getting a wing player back, we better be trading a wing in the process...Kapono, Moon, Delfino, Parker all deserve minutes.

You're not watching nearly enough Bucks games, now are you? Yi has been absolutely worthless for the past couple of months. All he does is hit that 19-20 fit open J even that he is not shooting anymore. (He is around the mid 30's in shooting percentage for the past 6 weeks or so). He doesn't have nearly enough post skills (CV atleast posts up and has that sweet jump hook or a couple of back to the basket moves). Moreover, Yi has been getting beaten on the defensive end of the floor as well (isn't nearly blocking as much shots as he was at the beginning of the year). The guy is very limited in his approach to the game at moment, understandable for a rookie. CV has been more consistent than Yi and that says a lot about Yi's inconsistency. CV has been taking it to the basket and isn't just chucking 3's anymore. He takes a open 3 every once in a while but thats about it.

How can you expect CV to be consistent if one day he plays 14 mins and the next day he plays 22 mins and then again gets yanked in 18 minutes of action. His minutes per game have ranged anywhere between 10 to 26 a game, usually in the mid teens. How the hell can I guy play consistently when he doesn't get consistent court time and opportunity?

What I don't get is this. Yi was playing badly against Houston and was injured and even then was sent back in to please the chinese audiences clearly indicating the Bucks don't care much about the win. If such an approach is taken towards Yi where they want him to get game time and develop his game, then why not CV who is actually a year younger than Yi in reality. Ofcourse, Yi's fake birth certificate will have you believe otherwise. CV has serious flaws to his game, but the Milwaukee Bucks are just embarassingly clueless.

Charlie's right about the sub patterns. Yi is getting minutes he isn't ready to play while Charlie rides the pine. I think CV has a right to be upset.

Sounds logical to me that a player who fights and keeps a team in a game should play, I also remember that Charlie V only played reduced minutes(very productive one

Could be that they see more potential in Yi than CV and are willing to take a hit in the win column to see him develop.
