We've been playing Bosh at the 5 the stretches where Andrea plays well. This goes back to the good games that Andrea had earlier in the year where he was exclusively playing the 4. He has had to guard the centre and as an effect, hasn't had to anchor our defence. Rather, its Bosh that is playing the 5 right now and anchoring our defence. Thus, from what I've seen so far this year and last year, in order for Bargs to play well and Bosh to play well together, Bargs has to exclusively be the 4 and Bosh has the be the 5.
Don't people worry that this will have a huge toll on his body of the course of the rest of the season, if not in the future?
Bosh has also be electifying on offense lately. He's barely taking jumpshots, getting to the line like crazy, and playing a lot more in the post.
Having Bosh at the 5 and Bargs at the 4 on offense seems to be working well. They're both scoring well and both creating opportunities for teammates.
As to the defense comment, I don't think I agree. If Bargs takes the best post player, and Bosh worries about roaming around and protecting the rim, it will not only play to both of their strengths, but it will reduce the stress on Bosh's body.
Offense: Bosh in the low-mid post, Bargs at the top of the ark / high post
Defense: Bargs takes post guy, Bosh looks to protect the rim
Who cares what numbers we put beside them?
