When Was The Last Time...?

Post#1 » by Scalabrine » Tue Feb 5, 2008 9:50 pm

When was the last time a player on the worst team in the league was on the All Star Team?

This year its happened with Dwyane Wade who was voted in by the fans, but probably would have been voted in by the coaches too because of his name.

Do you think he wuold have been voted in by the coaches if the fans didnt vote him in?

When was the last team a player on a team that is the worst in the league (currently 9-37) was in the all star game?

Do you think there should be a rule against it, because clearly they are not playing at an all star level if they are on a the worst team?

I'm pretty sure it happened with McGrady when he was on the Magic in '03/'04. They were 21-61. He was voted into the starting line-up.

I agree that D-Wade along with J-Kidd do not deserve to start simply because of team records but both are all-stars.

I dont think Wade is an all star this year, hes on the worst team in the league, history proves that players on bad teams dont get put in the game or else we would have Al Jefferson playing this year too. HIS team, the team he is supposed to leadis 9-37, thats awful. The year McGrady got voted in was that the season they lost 19 in a row or something like that?

Wade has definitley had one of his worst seasons so far. I dont think he deserves to be there. But a lot of fans just vote on the name.

If I was as injury-ridden as Wade or have played as much basketball as Kidd, I would sit out the All-Star Game.

Wade is not very deserving of being an All Star.

Gerald Wallace whose averaging 21ppg,6rpg,4apg,2spg,1bpg on 46% shooting on a team that has won twice as many games as Wade and has played in just about everyone is more deserving.

Josh Smith on the 20-24 Hawks is putting up monster stats as well:
18ppg
8rpg
4apg
3.3bpg
2spg

both players and plenty more deserve to be in the All Star game over Wade (who has lead HIS team to a 9-37 record).
Go Knicks!

Thanks for your opinion Scalabrine!

Please tell Gerald Wallace and Josh Smith to get some fans to vote for them.

 You're kidding right? Wallace over Wade? I don't like the Heat but anyone who takes Wallace over Wade for the ASG is mentally challenged. Wallace hasn't won anything and winning twice as many games as Miami means absolutely nothing. The Bobcats are still one of the worst teams in the NBA.

Who should honestly start over either of them? Both are the two best players for that position in the conference.

Billups is the best point guard in the East as of right now so he should be starting and a case could be made for Butler, Hamilton or Pierce to start at the 2.

Yeah, this guy won't quit, you hate Wade, we get it, blah blah blah. Deal with it.

Yeah Billups should have started over Kidd, but Wade would start over Hamilton, and Butler and Pierce are both forwards, so I still think the two best guards in the conference are Billups and Wade, but Kidd got it over Billups, I can live with that.
