Aww shucks, we are stuck with a 6'10'' stud who leads the league in 3's. What a burden.
prorl wrote:I been saying this for a while, the Magic dont need to trade Hedo or Lewis, just need to add a foward that is a good rebounder and decent defender for when they need to match up with tougher frontlines. Doesnt have to be a spectucular player, just someone that does the dirty work well.

I am officially at a cross road. prorl if we get that PF who goes to the bench. Rashard? Probably not (see $$$$$). If Hedo goes to the bench our starting 5 loses several scoring opportunities in exchange for defense and rebounds. Is Rashard as good with Hedo on the bench? Is Hedo going to be good if he is on the floor without Lewis' threat. Do we completely screw up the cohesiveness of our team. Maybe we are just a decent team that occasionally gets worked by a more physical team; we win when we out score the other team. I dont know.
Im begining to believe that ........ oh who am I kidding. I dont know what to believe anymore.

Weelll then Mr. Man. If you'd like to have a discussion about this we can do that.
Yes we're 'stuck' paying a 28 year old who averages 18 points 5 boards, and 2 assists 120 MIIILLLION dollars... I repeat.. 120 MILLLION dollars.
Now I wasn't going to elaborate on this because I feel many of you already know the burden that comes with this and are probably tired of hearing about it. So I apologize.
So what IS this burden?... Some of you ask, well why didn't we get Gasol?... Or WHY didn't we go after this guy, or the other? Because we CAN'T. We're financially strapped because we put all of our eggs in the Rashard basket.. I really don't understand how any of you can possibly defend this signing. He's making Lebron, D-Wade, Arenas type money, and he's not even in the same ball park as these players.
For goodness sake HEDO is better than Shard, and he makes just about 1/3 of what Shard makes. L-Deng is better than Shard, AND younger, and he wanted 50 mil less than what Shard took. Sorry, *rant off*

We would have all these same problems if Rashard was making a couple million less at his percieved market value. The couple extra million Shard makes over his market value doesn't effect us getting another name player anymore than Battie or Jameer's deal. People make a big deal out of Rashard being overpaid without ever saying why it is bad. The Magic could easily have gotten Gasol with Shard still in the fold. Yes, Shard is overpaid. No, it hasn't harmed anything. The Magic didn't get Gasol because they already have 2 all star calliber forwards. The Magic need a PG, and can easily add one at the deadline if they choose to, even with Rashard on the payroll.
And, I will say it again, Hedo is having the year he is having based in LARGE PART to Rashard spreading the floor and allowing Hedo free reign to the driving lanes. This seems to be convienantly forgotten by pretty much everyone. Without Shard teams would do what they did last year, sag the lane to double Dwight and keep Hedo out of the paint. Both Dwight and Hedo are having career years now that Shard is here, coincidence???
