Yep now the national audience is even saying we had the pieces to pull it off. Wonder how that makes all the KNOW IT ALLS around here feel?

I hate Ford, Gasol is a choker with a huge contract, and I'm glad we don't have him.

He would've fit very well next to Dwight though. Until the playoffs when he started choking up a storm.

2 first round draft picks
jj redick
keyon dooling
maurice evans
pat garrity
draft rights to fran

nelson, hedo, lewis, gasol, howard

I'm not giving up Mo and definitely not giving up Keyon if we don't get a PG back.

I would have done that in a heartbeat for three reasons.
1. All those players orlando give up can easily be replaced
2. The drafts picks would probably end up being mid to late first rounders anyways
3. This would possible be the best starting 5 in the League (instant championship contenders)

lol

If Chad Ford says it, it must be true.

First off, these ideas are, again, just speculation. They are just ideas that Ford thought up -- just like the ones on here.

Secondly, he's not even suggesting that these 10 teams messed up, he's suggesting the Grizzlies did.

A few quotes:

One GM I spoke to asserted he had a better deal to offer, claiming that Wallace didn't return his calls.

Second, it sounds like the Grizzlies didn't walk away with the best deal available.

It was a seemingly very lopsided deal; 28 teams' fans think they could have done better.

With your logic, every other team's GM is failure, too.

When did Otis piss in your Cheerios?

Gasol would just clog Dwight's lane and kill our shooting cause we need both Hedo and Shard to open up the lane. I for one am glad we didn't get Gasol. This team needs a rugged backup PF and a starting PG. Evans is fine at SG and I love out forward. We need Andre Miller and Reggie Evans. We just need a big who allows us to go with a more rugged front line when it is necessary.

We just need to get Darko back. Watching him now and he contests every damn shot.

Some of the article is true but lots of speculation. Memphis gains no cap space with Toronto trade and the Phoenix trade would suck for Memphis if Marion doesn't opt out.

No question that Orlando is one of the few teams that can come up with a very similar package to the Lakers. Here is the reality.

1. Does Otis really have the green light to advance salary to whatever level. Those expirings may be needed to avoid a massive payroll and Gasol would have given the Magic 3 Max players not including Hedo.

2. If you have Gasol and you don't believe Hedo can move to SG then by bringing in Gasol are you telling Otis to bench your 20 million a year FA prize.

3. You have already received nothing in the draft as a GM. Are you ready to give up 2 draft picks and get nothing in draft again.

4. Otis still is a player trying to act like GM. Players that have not fully taken on management mindset have a tough time making trades. As a player its one of the most difficult times in your life after a trade. A GM can't get attached to players that he may have to trade in the future. Instead you feel lets keep the group together and we will figure it out. I get feeling that Otis has a tough time making any trades unless its with unhappy players.

That's funny, I was beginning to think the same of you considering you can't go more than one post without mentioning Otis Smith.

Nice cop out.

You got a warning because you called someone (me) an ass.

Don't resort to name calling and you won't get a warning. It's pretty simple.

The truth is that this team wasn't built to win a title this year and you are just being impatient. At the begining of the year everyone would have killed for being the #3 team behind Detroit and Boston, but now that we are all anyone does is bitch about why we aren't a title contender.

This team will get there, unless the Magic listen to you and make a kneejerk reaction based on impatience. That is what the Bulls did with Ben Wallace and it has bit them badly.

I thought you weren't going to respond to Devin anymore?

So how could you be a source of "truth" when you're not being true to your own word?
