Disagreed, we need a high IQ, defensive small forward. Odom and Walton are mediocre and will be our weakest links during the playoffs. Ariza would've been our guy but he's out with a fractured foot.

As a Suns fan.. I would like that... the front court gets smaller..

Bynum at this point, as he is still young is still prone to foul trouble, with Odom and Gasol moving from SF to PF, PF to C... Lakers front court remains big and well rounded.

With Carter... Kobe and Gasol... simply too many scorers...
Carter doesnt impact the game when he doesnt control the ball... him and Kobe will just overlap in terms of roles..

As someone said.. Odom there makes the lakers really tough.. just HUGE front court.... will give many teams problems.. 6'10 and two 7 footers... geez..

Artest would be good.... Boris Diaw even.... he'd get like 7 assists a game in that triangle.

Josh Smith would thrive...

But the one perfect player is Shawn Marion... he is a finisher, gets points of hustling and slashing... in that system... Fisher, Bryant, Marion, Gasol and Bynum... thats well covered in every position...

I can only dream of Josh Smith playing for LA.

You must not have watched the 2004 Finals. Prince did as good a job on Kobe as anybody I've ever seen outisde of Bruce Bowen. He consistently rates among the top perimeter defenders in the NBA.

Bottom line is, we have absolutely no need for what Carter brings. He duplicates Kobe, and he's butter-soft. Prince would be a much, much better fit.

Now, how will Prince be had away from the Pistons? Especially with the long-term deal he just signed recently.

Or is that just an example of a mold of somebody at the three, but not mentioning Prince with the intention for the Lakers to get him, specifically?

The latter. Glue guy is basically what I'm saying.

what the lakers don't need is somebody who only does scoring and nothing else, and takes shots away from Pau and Kobe. Carter is completely redundant on that Lakers team.

Dude, get over it. Carter sucks balls for the amount of money he's paid.

80% of people that say VC is done and hate on his game are usually Kobe fans or fans of other elite swingmen in the NBA, that get mad when everyone claims VC is more talented and had more potential than their favorite player..my belief..

Oh, Carter is amazing. As a Laker fan, I would hate to see the Nets lose him to LA. I would REALLY hate that. Really.

No. VC is done because he is done. He's got a little left in the tank but he can't be the #1 option and he's barely a 2nd option. At this point, he's best being the 3rd option.

I'm not one of them, for the record. He's amazing. Truly. Please don't lose him, New Jersey. Especially to the Lakers.

explain to me how he's a 3rd option?..nevermind don't..it's Patterns..I already know your anti-Vince Carter bias, I see it in every VC thread..my Kobe theory applies to you as much as anybody else..

I think id rather have Odom than VC..and when you throw in farmar it probably becomes a deal that the Lakers wouldn't do. Still don't think that they would "say no in a heartbeat" though, they'd definitely think about it.. especially after recently adding Gasol and a whole new makeup to their offense.
Spragga - The greatest trick the Raptors ever pulled was convincing the world that Defense doesn't exist.

His position in the triangle really could make him the 4th.
