Worst players to make an All-Star team vs. Best snubs
IMO these are the worst players to make an ASG, considering ASGs-skills ratio.
PG-Francis, Marbury
SG-Joe Johnson
SF-Wally Sczerbiak
PF-Shareef, JO
C-Mehmet Okur
Best snubs (ratio of skill to ASGs)
PG-Baron, Cassell, Calderon
SG-SJax, ???
SF-GWall, Artest, RJ, Hedo
PF-Brand, Gasol
C-Camby
(This is among active players BTW)
Could the snubs beat the "stars?"
PG-Francis, Marbury
SG-Joe Johnson
SF-Wally Sczerbiak
PF-Shareef, JO
C-Mehmet Okur

Good point, I knew I forgot somebody. However, I wouldn't say D-Will's better than Baron. D-Will is a better shooter, but that's it. If Baron had Boozer etc, he'd average 12+ APG easily. At scoring, rebounding, defense, etc, Baron is better than him. But I agree that he's better than Sam and Calderon.

clarify one thing for me:
is the list of scrubs on the AS list players with the skills they have now or players with the skills they had when they were selected?
If its skills they have now then lets bring in Magic Johnson, Bill Russel, some other dinosaurs that would have no chance in hell to get up and down the court fort 10 minutes much less 48.
If its when they were selected then what is Marbury, Francis, Johnson, Wally, Reef, and JO doing on the list? Okur I can understand but thats still iffy.
If you remember Francis was a 20/5/5 point guard with unbelievable hops. Marbury was in elite company with the Big O for being the only point guards to have career averages of 20/8 and that year he was an all star with NJ he should have been the MVP when he lead the East back from being down double digits in the 4th but they gave it to Iverson who equally deserved it, the year SAR got in was when he averages 21/9/3/1 and after his rookie season where he averaged 19 points he have 7 straight seasons of having a 20 point average until he was traded to the Blazers and backed up Randolph and Wallace in much less minutes. Szcerbiack got voted in the year he averaged 19 and 5 bounds on 50% from the field and 45% from 3 on the team with the best record. Jermaine has been a 20/10 player and in the top 10 in blocked shots every year but this year since hes been with Indiana, Johnson has been playing great basketball this year and the Hawks are in the playoffs right now, I think hes way more deserving than Dwyane Wade whos putting up good stats on the worst team in basketball.
All of the players you listed were very deserving when they got selected and got selected for the right reasons. Its not fair to say that since they are older and have gone through injuries and surgeries that have made them lesser players that they were undeserving of being All Stars.

19/9 isn't "average at best". They aren't allstar numbers but thats way above average PF at best numbers.

Starbury and Francis IMO are Zach Randolph esque- they stuffed stat sheets, but had little or no impact on games, which explains their dismal playoff records
With all due respect, Gasol, Brand, and Davis aren't exactly playoff superstars themselves. Brand one a series but has only been to the postseason once, Gasol has gotten swept a couple of times, Baron has seen some limited success but we aren't talking about a guy who has been a staple at the top of the league for a while here.
Brand was a notable snub for a long time because he hadn't made the playoffs in his career. Its silly to compare Brand of 05-06 to Marbury of a few years ago and say that Marbury was the unsuccessful stat stuffer.
