well when he rated us "the worst" on that list, he basically said that we wouldn't be the worst record wise or talent wise, but we would be the worst because we have so many bright spots and we have so many people pulling for us and so on that our lack of achievement and playoff progression sting much harder, i guess that's what he meant...

Dang that sounds familiar, I wrote pretty much the same exact thing no more than 10 hours ago in the "turk is legit" thread. AND I got ripped by Gerhalt11. Stephen A Smith thinks like I do. It starts with an emotional leader, we don't have one! Watch any lay-up line and warm-up line from any other good team, they are all focussed, we fool around, throw stupid shots up and then go out and blow easy layups. I usually don't applaud Stephen A Smith but I have to in this instance, he nailed it right on the head!

Some sports personalities always seem to have something intelligent to add (Dr Ramsey).

Whereas others just say things they think are controversial to make an impact.

Unfortunately today people seem to gravitate to the entertainment value. Just look at the evening news - they don't just present it anymore, they have to do something extra. For example the Ping guy who does sports.

y 2 a b hasn't made a single point yet, just feels that by being a homer he is a true fan. I hope you don't have children we don't need anymore ignorant sports fans in this world. Obviously Smith has a point considering no one takes us seriously yet. Soon though, once Dwight gets meaner we will be ready!

Stephen A. Smith, who said drafting Dwight over Okafor was one of the worst moves ever in the NBA.

Stephen A Smith is a dumbass, but he has a good point.

He over-exaggerated it times a million, but it's still a good point.

This team fools around way too much. At the beginning of games, during games, when we lose. I still see people smiling when we lose. I still see players **** around and not even trying during shoot arounds.

We fired Dwight's shooting coach once the season started. He started the season out strong on FTs, making around 70-75 percent. It won us several games. Then he started to get back into old habits. This is when the shooting coach is supposed to step in and tweak the shot. Oh wait, we FIRED THE **** SHOOTING COACH.

Seven of eight playoff teams out West have shooting coaches. The Dallas Mavs have led the NBA in FT% for several years since they hired a shooting coach. It's just little stuff like that which makes you a better team, and this organization does not do the little things.

We pretty much have no scouting, and as a result, our draft picks are consistently crappy outside of the '04 draft.

It's not as bad as SAS makes it sound, but it's still an important matter.

SAS is a drama queen, and that's how he's been his whole broadcasting career. Like with just about everything he talks about, he's probably in the ballpark but is blowing it way out of proportion.

This is the same Steven A Smith who said we were idoits for drafting Howard over Emeka. He is an idiot, he does'nt even know how to do analysys. He just argues with everybody and all the people who work with him are like " why the hell are you argueing with me man". He is a big dumb ass.

I'm convinced that matty boi is an infiltrator from the Miami Heat or some other organization who drops in just to cause dissension and unhappiness. Or maybe he's brian hill boi, just trying to get back at the Magic for firing him. You think it doesn't happen? Then you know nothing about big business or big politics.

When....when....has he ever had anything good to say about a 31-19 team? That alone tells you that something is seriously wrong with the guy's perspective. And for what it's worth...he's not the only one.

There is such a thing as not being a homer. And such a thing as not being able to see the forest for the trees -- or preferring just to burn down the forest. The Magic might not be a championship team this year, but I think that anyone who expected them to do more than perhaps win more games and hopefully get to the second round of the playoffs had idiotic expectations for one season of growth with a 22-year-old as your star player anyway.

If the Magic manage to get through this season without getting completely torn apart by their anti-fans and the media, it will be a miracle.

Stephen A Smith, the biggest talking head in the history of sports media said this?? The day I take that clod seriously is the day I go into the woods and off myself.

I guess the loudmouth didn't know about the 14 million dollars RDV has given to Orlando's community, and doesn't know they payed upwards of 50 percent of the new arena ( the new measuring stick in NBA owner contributions).

Maybe if I can undevelop my abilities to put two straight sentences together and be really obnoxiously loud about a subject I know nothing about I can make 6 figures screaming on TV too.

Smith is (Please Use More Appropriate Word), anyone who takes him seriously really needs to be re-educated when it comes to sources on tv.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

i know what he meant i still think hes a douche. he just critisized our whole team saying they cant cooperate with a good coach when that is absolute bull noone on our team starts huge argument or has attitude problems, this team is only going up and SAS is an idiot for suggesting otherwise

Stephen A. Smith's main problem is he is afraid if the Magic do well in the playoffs, he might have to spend a couple days in Orlando, and it's not glamorous enough for him like South Beach or L.A. Who can forget him openly rooting against the Spurs the past couple years because HE didn't want to go back to the River Walk. It's all about what HE wants. Really, ESPN should fire the guy. How is that objective or credible?

Everything i post is true.

It might not be what you want to hear...But its true.

Are you happy with 31-19?

I personally am not...I want to be the best.

And if you ask fans of good teams, they arent happy with that either.

AND THERES A REASON...I KNOW IT WONT LAST IN THE PLAYOFFS. That record is fools gold when it comes to what really matters.

Now im not expecting it to happen overnight but when you look at everything a couple things need to be done in order to improve.

We need to trade our expirings, we are locked up with rashards contract for a while and this is one of the only chances we have to add a piece.

The team we have now is not going to do it. Sorry to burst your bubble. Jameer is not the PG of the future.

Rashard will only maintain his play or decline while hes here...Hes not getting any better, hes a 10 year vet.

Do you have faith in our drafting abillities? I hope not.

Do you think we have a winning mentality, focus, a drive to win?

Changes need to be made or were not going anywhere.
