Only teams I could even think that would be interested in Shaq are Chicago and New York....

Phoeneix sells us their 1st rounders..They aren't paying Shaq for damn sure......

Could there seriously be any worse of a fit for Shaq than the Suns?

Also, with out money conscious the Suns are, I can't imagine any way they'd make this deal.

They just said on Sportscenter that Shaq is flying to Phoenix in the morning.....

Sounds like a physical is the only thing holding this deal up.

This is so hard to take serious. Phoenix gave us James Jones and Rudy Fernandez for a few million dollars yet they are willing to take on Shaq's ridiculous contract?? For Marion??? I'll believe it when I see him in a Suns uniform.

PS: Am I the only one who thinks this makes Phoenix immediately worse? I mean, obviously they would be worse next year and beyond, but I think they would take a huge hit this year too.

I have a hard time believing for a dozen reasons. Marion is pretty important to Phoenix and replacing him in the lineup really changes the team. (although marion has apparently been a headache for the Suns FO a few times)

And I would wonder just how compatible Shaq's and Amare's games are. Seems like they both like to occupy the same area.

I wonder what percentage of Phoenix's baskets would be scored before Shaq even crossed halfcourt?

Wow, if this trade really goes down, it'll be terrible for the suns. Shaq doesn't fit in Phoenix for obvious reasons and Marion on the other hand is an amazing fit on the suns. It should be interesting to see if this rumor has any beef to it because I won't buy it until it's official.

From what I read, the Suns might be considering this for chemistry reasons. Marion let it be known he wanted to be traded during the summer, so he being unhappy could be leading to problems in the lockerroom.

I still don't like this trade for the Suns and I think they could probably get a better deal somewhere else, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

wow....maybe the Suns are worried about Bynum and Gasol in LA

and maybe they're thinking Shaq can grab lots of rebounds and start the fast break.

It sure is a gamble on kerr's part

I just realized that if this trade goes down, Joel will have to face Shaq 5 times in a regular season...lucky fella

Not to mention they could probably get a deal that fits their team's needs better. I don't know how shaq's going to fit in the Suns' system and can see their team running any legs that Shaq has left off of him. I believe that O'Neal still has room to contribute to another title run, but definitely not on PHX and definitely not as the main post player. I don't know, maybe Dantoni will figure out a way to use Shaq if this deal goes down but currently, this deal looks very ill-advised.

Marion right now is by far a better player.
But on the other hand Ive always had a
feeling Shaq was laying low a bit because
he had one more good run left in him.. .

If that is true, Nash with Stoudemire & Shaq,
Nash is going to have a lot of fun with that!!

The Suns may need another guy off the bench
if they really are going to make a run at the title.

-

I still think Pritchard needs to do something before
the draft. Im still hoping he might make a trade.. .

I'm amazed Shaq still has this kind of value around the league.

Yahoo makes it sound like a done deal. I'll be very interested to see how this makes the Suns look.

The next question is will this trigger another WC titan to make a big move? Spurs are still strugglng and Dallas has looked ugly.

Ya, Yahoo is saying that the deal has been agreed on by both sides and is now just waiting for Shaq to pass the physical.

Dallas is REALLY gonna feel the pressure to make a move now imo.

This sure has been a strange year in the NBA.
