What did you guys think of Darko?
I'll start off about Andrew Bogut (going from today's game).
Pros:
His low post game is eerily similar to Vlade Divac, relying on deviations (especially his up n unders and scoops)
Plays solid defense and willing to take charge (as evidenced by late game heroics)
Great passer who finds guys in right spot (too bad some guys can't make shots...)
Is more athletic than I thought
Seems like a future all-star big man in mold of again, Vlade Divac
Cons:
Rebounded well below average
Missed a couplem easy shots (assume it's a bad game considering his last month?)
Bad chemistry? I saw him push Charlie Villenueva when Bucks missed on a possession
Be real honest

Darko looked better than I remember.
He had a few nice 5-7 foot hook shots. That is all he should be doing. He is so long, he can get it off over most anyone. Defensively, he looked like he could be pretty foul prone, but otherwise active and disruptive.
Bogut looked pretty bad tonight and didn't appear as aggressive as he's been lately.

Darko had a nice game tonight and broke even with Bogut who has been hot for the past month or so. In saying that this was an off night for Andrew considering his last 20 games, so it becomes difficult to judge Darko on that basis. Darko did do a nice job defensively on Bogut on the block though, as many other defenders including guys like Yao haven't been able to handle him down there lately.

Yeah i saw that push, it was after Charlie had missed on a drive and he was starting to whine to the refs, i think the push (and it was more of a nudge) was simply to get Charlie's attention on his defensive matchup, who was already half way down the court.
I have never seen any chemistry problems between Bogut and CV.

Magic fan here.
Darko had a very solid defensive game, which is not unusual for him. He changes a decent amount of shots and certainly has a knack for guarding post players. The thing that is intriguing about him is that he is 7'1 and exceptionally quick on his feet. I feel 7'0+ height is pretty useless unless you have quick feet. If you combine those two attributes you can be a terror on defense. His 7'5 wingspan doesn't hurt either.
Offensively, its the same problem I have with Dwight. They just do the same thing over and over again. In Darkos case it is the hook shot, which is very good but I have seen him pull off more impressive moves but he rarely even tries. Do something different and it keeps guys guessing, which is what makes Al Jefferson impressive.

Darko looked good, he's run into a bit of a purple patch lately compared to the rest of his horrendous season. I know he's listed at 7'1 but I thought at times he made Bogut look small, it's a shame he hasn't been able to fill out the potential he had when he was drafted, you can tell just by watching him that he could've been a really special player.

Yeah I see no real reason why he can't still develop into a solid player. He's gonna be the inside focus for a team for a while now for the first time in his career, nothing is expected of the team so it might bode well for them to pump it in to him a bit. The Grizz are a team that have always had an inside presence so they'll be used to playing that way anyway, plus they need to go inside out to continue to get Miller and Gay open, I could see him ending up averaging maybe 10 and 8? Whilst those aren't terribly impressive numbers, if he can play good D with them he becomes a pretty servicable center in this league. He definitely looked a lot longer than Bogut tonight and was able to do a solid job defensively, he doesn't have anything like Bogut's ceiling imo, but he may not turn out to be the absolute bust he's been declared.

Darko is tall, long, fairly athletic, and has a knack for blocking shots, that i figured could give Bogut problems because his post game still isn't overly advanced and he doesn't have a jumper.
My guess is of all the centers in the NBA that Bogut will face, Darko is in the top 5 or so of guys that would cause problem for Andrew in regards to him being able to score in the post.

i'd love for darko to be on the bucks roster, i've been a fan for a while. i think he often displays the potential that made him so highly coveted and if he can become more consistent, i'd see him averaging 15/10. the biggest mistake with darko i think was him being unused by the pistons in his rookie year. that set his development back a lot.
having said that, he seems to match up well against bogut and had his number tonight.
3 double doubles in a row for darko?

Couple things to know about Darko:
Younger than Bogut
Didn't play several yeards, hindering development
Playing different style of game than he is accustomed to (low post rather than perimeter)
Overweight by 15-20 lbs
Finally is a focal point in an offense
I think we are just beginning to TIP the icerberg.

Well I wouldn't say that, but he certainly isn't done yet. These big minutes are great for him and hope they continue for the rest of the
season.

I actually agree with you about Darko...
I think he can be a tremendous defensive player. I'm not sure that he will ever be a major factor offensively though. I think he has some decent post moves, a nice fifteen foot jumper and is actually a pretty good passer for his size.
I would certainly take Darko on the Bucks as a compliment to Bogut at the PF spot.
