VINCE CARTER OWES EVERYONE ON THE NETS AN APOLOGY

Post#1 » by ock » Wed Feb 6, 2008 3:49 am

I'm a Lakers fan. I'm happy that we won, but I'm not here to rub that in. I'm actually pretty disturbed by the game VC had.

VC had a great game against the Lakers today. I've been watching Nets games for a while now (I live in the NY/NJ area), and I have rarely seen Vince play with the kind of intensity he came out with today. He shot well, but he was moving, he was elevating, and he was dunking like he was 5 years younger. He got some corticosteroid shots, and so he feels better, fine. But the difference in play and attitude was HUGE. He simply upped his game for Kobe and the Lakers. For ONE game.

For a professional, never mind a supposed star, that is unacceptable.

He should bring it every night. There are lapses here and there for everyone, but VC walks through every game until this one.

No wonder JKidd is pissed and wants out.

What a freaking scrub. There is a reason why Vince will never be a winner.

He's had far better games throughout the season, but with his ankle injury he hasn't been able to bring it consistently every night. This thread is stupid and you clearly know nothing about nets basketball, but thanks for sharing

Sorry fellow nets fan but i have to agree. Ankle or no ankle he was different during the Laker game. Maybe it was cuz he was up against Kobe. A lot of people elevate their game for Kobe, ie Maggette.

But carter brought the intensity which was great to see. He didnt shoot his best but he was more effective than some of his better statistical nights. That's what it's like when he plays hard. RJ just played stupid tonight and so did Kidd. Nachbar was nice and Wright was worthless as usual. Boone and Sean got abused by Gasol mostly because they're rooks and their defensive positioning sucks. Blame that partly on coaching. We woulda lost by 20 if Bynum played. And that's with Kobe scoring in single digits...ridiculous.

Basically, carter finally brought it even on D but got no help on either end. Typical net basketball. hi five.

This game helps both VC supporters and his haters I'll explain:

It proves that Vince was just being lazy in all those other games when he in fact could have played like that.

Or it proves that Vince is finally healthy and is ready to help this team get back on the winning side again.

Whatever it might be we'll find out in the next 2-3 game.s

Usually when people rest, you expect them to be more energized. Also on the other hand, maybe Vince is sick of the loosing and thinks this RJ offense thing is a waste of time

I mean, if it's the ankle, I appreciate the fact that he didn't pack it in yet and have surgery or just sit out. But at the same time, he is known to be a bit of a slacker.

My concern recently has just been that maybe his physical capability has deteriorated so right now it's just relieving to see he can still be effective as long as his mentality is right.

Maybe if RJ didnt get his face split open last night he coulda scored 20 and the nets could have possibly won the game.

Here's to hoping this is the beginning of VC and the rest of the team's 2nd half-season playoff push. Like we've done the past few years.

I was at the game last night and if JEFF didn't take that elbow from lamar NETS would've won that game.VC came to play against KOBE like always.KOBE bricked just about every shot 6 points. But Gasol gonna fit in nice and i think LA gonna take the west this year if everyone stay healthy

Carter was being aggressive instead of differing to RJ. That's the difference.

Vince played hard on a national stage (kobe is always a national stage) just in case a curious GM was watching.

You know, it was one thing when NY was alone in its mediocrity but, we need Jersey to be good so they can take some attention from NY.

With Jersey floundering, the beat writers focus even more on NY so, win jersey win.

Unbelievable. How about the 9 game losing streak where the ball was ran through RJ? How about our record when VC is not in the lineup? You're just adding fuel to the fire for VC haters to come and troll on a thread such as this.

Vince just needs to play , Forget differing to RJ go hard at the rim and open things up for everyone else, VC haters if you hate the man so much why do you bother to watch him play?

Return to Brooklyn Nets
