All I can say is, when Shaq is playing how are teams going to defend both Amare and Shaq?

Even though Shaq is close to being washed up he can still throw down 20 and grab 10 boards on any given night.

Kobe knocking Shaq out of the playoffs - justice served.

Kobe knocking Shaq into retirement - Priceless.

It's not JUST about the savings, though.

This is an act of desperation by Steve Kerr to win a Champoinship in Phoenix before Steve Nash declines. The problem is, Shaq's body doesn't have another Championship in it IMO. He's not the force he once was, and never will be again.

You gotta think that the Heat wouldve given up Shaq for a lot less.

He still draws double and triple teams in the post, and still shoots 58% from the floor. Those are both very valuable assets. It's a gamble no doubt, but Shaq doesn't have to will his team to a ring, he just as to make life easier for Nash, Amare, and Hill...

I like this trade for Phoenix.

Shaq unlike Marion, can create offense and make plays.

Marion was just another finisher, even though one of the best in the league.

Shaq though, gives the Suns another dimension in their halfcourt play, which was solely dependend on Nash before.

For the Heat, it will mean that Wade will have to become even more of a playmaker rather than a scorer, since no one except for him is an elite level creator on offense.

even though suns give up the best player, I still like this trade for them. They have hill and diaw to plug in for Shawn Marion, and they really needed a big, and Shaq is still a top 10 center in this league. Nash feeding Shaq is going to make his points go up, however, he needs to get in shape before the playoffs.

As a Laker fan, I can only say that this has now become a perfect season.

The story line is just too great. Kobe is going to get revenge on the Suns and Shaq at the same time this year....lmao. And next year, Shaq will really decline.

I'm telling you, Hill is injury prone. Shaq is injury prone. Now an injury to Shaq without Marion? lol. You guys just traded an iron man for a guy who regularly doesn't play.

And why is Amare happy? This kills his shot at making any All NBA first teams for the forseeable future.

This trade is bad for the Suns defensively. I read a lot of suns fans think Amare will thrive at his natural position of PF and that Shaq AND Amare in the front court is very formidable (potentially). The problem lies in fouls. Shaq is foul prone due to is decline in mobility. Amare had trouble guarding centers in the west, now he has to guard PF?! who, last time i checked, the west are more stacked at PF then they are at C. Given that, i don't think Amare and Shaq would play together all that often due to foul trouble. The Suns front court is going to invite penetration and that's where Amare and Shaq will really have problems. This isn't about the offense, Suns always had a great offense, the defense is what always kills them and this trade only makes them that much weaker. I can't say i really fear the Suns, even in the playoffs cause even then, Shaq's going to have to play a lot of good games for the Suns to win and I don't see that happening.

People doubted this franchise many a time, but little did they realize who's running this thing, Riley.

He's built and rebuilt teams over here, time and time again. And he's seemingly done it again.

rutheredfox wrote:ok maybe that was an overstatement i'm just saying there's no one on miami that will feed marion. he can't make plays for himself. he needs a true pg. and if jason william is shipped out of miami, which i think is highly likely, wade and marion will not work together.
Whether he's as good or not, isn't that much of a big deal.

We get into SALARY CAP HEAVEN a few years earlier to be able to spend $$$ in Free Agency to supply Wade with HIS TEAM!

PHX just went from being a top 3 team to a mid table team. Suns system doesn't fit Shaq at all and from what i heard Bucher say is that the Suns expect Shaq to be their "Defensive stopper" and take a lesser role while the rest of the team runs and guns. That is just STUPIDITY. Shaq can barely jump anymore, let alone run, he's washed up and most of the West powerhouses will be smiling once this goes through as Marion was a much more dangerous weapon than the ancient banged up Shaq.

For the Heat they get a decent PG in banks and an allstar calibre SF to go next to Wade.

Wade :dontknow:
