Daily Papers - February 6, 2008

Toronto Sun
Sense in motion

"Obviously he's rusty and it's going to take a little while," Mitchell said, "but that's the first step. He looked all right but I know T.J., I've been around him a long time. He is still a ways away. I would just tell you, look how long it took him last time. Go pull out that Atlanta game, I think that was the game he really felt comfortable and it's unfortunate he got hurt that night but he's still in the process of coming back."

Toronto Star
It's now time to shift into playoff gear

"He's got his confidence back," said Calderon of Bargnani. "Sometimes when he didn't make shots, he just stopped playing. Now I think he's reading the defence. ... When he plays like this, everybody on our team is a better player, too."

Ford's biggest hurdle was all mental

The Raptors have been impressed enough with Lucas's work that they're contemplating hiring him in a consultant's role to continue to help Ford's transition back into the lineup.

Lucas seemed enthused by the prospect. "Any way I can help, and help T.J., I'm happy to help. ... I think Chris Bosh has MVP potential. I love to be around guys that want to be stars."

Shes alright, just her super-hero-chin is meh.
So umm this is where people write stuff that they wanted repeated again, and again, and again.

I will NOT fall in that trap...

Lucas has done a great job with TJ, and it really seems like he is looking to stick around with his comments this morning.

The man the Raptors hired to preside over Ford's rehab, former NBA coach and point guard John Lucas, a long-time friend whom Ford considers family, wouldn't allow Ford to short-cut it.

I guess if he does get hired, Derrick Martin becomes expendable as the PG coach, seeing as it how that is what Lucas could become.

Re: SS girl
I thought that was Victoria from WWE in the first pic.

-she looks very fit though, toned legs, toned arms

Some of the most entertaining reading on the internet is on how this board evaluates the SS Girl on a daily basis.

Another classic nitpick is the super hero chin comment above. Too funny.

In all honesty, that is a good looking woman.

You might as well hire Lucas.. and keep him around the team. It would help TJ and other players.

She's not bad. She can be your friend's girlfriend and bodyguard. Now if she can cook, then he's hit the jackpot.

She should tighten up her trousers. They look like they are going to fall off.

Doesn't John Lucas run some sort of basketball training camp in Houston? I guess he would have to leave that job if he were to be hired by the Raptors.

The SS girl today is pretty good, but yesterdays was the best I have seen in a long time.

I found a funny reference to a former Raptor; from what I recall we did tend to play better when he was on the floor:
"Ben Wallace extolled the virtues of playing alongside legitimate 7-footers, dropping names from his past like Elden Campbell and Eric Montross, somebody interrupted him to suggest that Montross stunk.

"Doesn't matter," Wallace said. "Whether you're a great player or not, if you're 7 feet and around that basket, they have to pay some attention to you.""
:D

Pairing with Bulls 7-footer Aaron Gray gives Big Ben freedom to roam at both ends of floor:

She looks like a cross of Chyna, Lucy Lawless (Zena) and Demi Moore

what is with the 2"-3" of room between her bottoms and her stomach? I had about 3 jokes to make about this but seeing as it's your buddies girl, I will hold off
