The Magic could try this....(line-up change with JJ in it)
If the only job of the PG on this team is to dribble the ball to the opponents court and then give it to Hedo, then why not just ditch the PG position and replace it with an extra SG (JJ). And then let Hedo handle the PG duties as point forward. Our line-up would look like this:
SG: JJ Redick
SG: Mo Evans
P(oint)F: Hedo Turkoglu
PF: Reshard Lewis
C: Dwight Howard
The liability of JJ on defense comes from the fact he gets overpowered against other SG's, I think he would do better guarding most PG's. Besides this will spread the floor even more, making the job of both Hedo and Dwight easier.

This post reminded me of how Cavaliers was playing in the playoffs. PG dribble the ball to the opponents court and give it to LBJ and he shoots or drives or assists. We have a little-magic LBJ in the lineup.
As for your lineup, sorry, i dont think it would work...

lol...I am getting lynched here!
Well it was just a thought, I mean the Cavs play this way as did the old Bulls (MJ era). I guess we don't have the people do duplicate that, but on the otherhand we already play this system (in a way) everytime Dooling gets on the floor (since he got zero PG abilities).

I actually made reference to this in another thread. That is all the pg on this team does is to pass it to Hedo our playmaker. It's obvious we don't win by playing defense. I'd give this a shot at least to see if it works or until we got a true pf or pg.

Actually he wouldn't be leading the offense, that would be Hedo's job. My reasoning behind this is the way the Magic are playing (especially these last couple of games). It's basically Arroyo/ Dooling dribbling the ball to the court of the oppenent and then giving it up to Hedo who then makes the play. This means whoever mans the PG position switches to a SG role, so I thought why not put a better shooter in there if our playmaker is Hedo.

Reason why Cavs and The Old Bulls could do it was. The Bulls had People who can pass the ball and be playmakers. Hence Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen. Especially Pippen who was averaging 7 assist a game, and a great passer. Ron Harper being at the point whould really hurt. Plus the fact they played great defense. Then the Cavs same situation. Lebron James 7 assist a game, and being a great passer. And Hughes having experience running the point in his previous years. Plus they play great defense aswell.
Redick can't pass the ball. Maurice Evans can't pass the ball, and Hedo isn't really the best passers. He is just okay. Plus the fact the Magic don't play defense good.

I sort of see where you're coming from, but all opponents would have to do is press all night long and that would immediately negate any advantage we'd gain by putting a shooter in the PG spot. I don't trust JJ any further than I can throw him to pass out of a press or a half court trap.
