Playing down under and doing very very well. I think he will return to the league. He is a good defender with natural pg vision and leadership. Problem is his jumper is still average if not below average. I do not think he was given enough time to learn the league.

Well, he might have had more time if he wasn't shot.

But I am glad to hear he is playing and getting better. I wasn't sure if he'd play again. Hopefully we'll see him back in the NBA so I can root against him like the good ol' days. :-)

OK listen up guys. Since the original time has elapsed and the deal has been accepted, the NY-WAS trade WILL GO THROUGH. The rules were clear that everyone had 12 hours to veto, and the necessary 3 votes were not in place. But due to some recent events, the time a trade needs to go through will be increased to 18 hours. Now stop discussing the matter after the fact please.

Gordon won't come at fraction of the cost. He wanted a 70 mill contract past off-season. Thats not chump change. Clearly Arenas is going to get more than that but it still is significant money.

But I am not disputing the deal, thats why I said, if the Washintong GM is doing it, he clearly has a plan. And if thats what he wants to do, fair play to him.

I still feel, you got a lot more value than Wizards, but thats just me. The pieces he got in return clearly hold more value for him and thats the only thing that mattered.

As for your first statement, yea I probably minimized how much Gordon would cost. I don't think he'll get 70 million but thats beyond the point. I do think that Arenas is probably looking for a deal that is near or above 100 million. Considering how much money orlando threw away on Rashard Lewis I really find it hard to argue against giving Arenas that type of money because at least he's a franchise player. But would teams think he is worth the at least 20-30 million dollar contract difference he would represent over Gordon best contract? Its that complicated comparative value equation that one must keep in mind.

As for the fairness of the deal, its like you said. Value depends upon the perspective of the person. In this case both parties are very satisfied with what they got back.

Chicago and Indiana have a trade to announce

Joe Smith $5,205,000
Adrian Griffin $1,593,000
09 First Round Pick (top 10 protected in 09, unprotected in 2010)

Total Salary: $6,798,000 (able to take back $8,597,500)

for

Jeff Foster $5,500,000
Ryan Bowen $1,033,930

Total Salary $6,533,930 (able to take back $8,167,412)

Chicago accepts. Foster is more of a C than Smith, and Bowen for Griffin was simply third string players being swapped. The first round pick is rough to give up, but this solidifies my front court, so I can live with giving it up.

I'm thinking he meant the '09 pick's protection won't matter in '09 on behalf that the Bulls get better and he gets to also get the '10 pick.

No, its just one pick. He has since fixed his post, he knew it was only one pick, we had discussed multiple picks before, hence the confusion.

Orlando accepts. We get a good SG/SF in MoPete that is solid shooter to help spread the floor. He can also slash and score that way. In the end I give up a player that can't contribute on my team and an expiring contract.

Not too sound like to much of a jerk, but Phoenix will have some work to do to stay within the roster limits; so might the other 2 teams as well.

I am going to have to veto that trade. Its not that its a horrible trade or anything but that trade cannot possibly work. We've been told we need to say within roster limits and even if Phoenix has the maximum allowed open roster spots there is no way they can fit the 7 extra players coming with this deal. And b4 the Phoenix GM can interject that he will cut X number of players he just aquired I will also point out that roster spots must be cleared b4 hand in order for the trade to be approved.
