OT: How about a Raptors board folding@home team?
I'm a member at a few other forms, and they all have forum based folding@home teams. I think this forum gets alot of traffic, and would have the potential to be a top tier team.
In a nutshell, folding@home is computer software that simulates protien folding. Scientists are using the program to better undertand many diseases. People around the world download the software and run it as a screensaver, or in the background, on their PC or playstation 3. This research couldn't be done without volunteers.

*Edit.
Hey guys, it seems like some people were interested afterall so I set up a team. I would like to encourage everyone to download the program here
http://folding.stanford.edu/.
If you have a ps3, you can download it from your ps3 as well. The ps3 is really powerful so it helps alot if you download it on the ps3.
Once you download the program, right click on the program in the tool bar, click on configure and then enter the raptors team number which is 109196.
Once you are set up, recruit as many people as you can! The more people we recruit, the higher our team will rise in the ranks! And, of course, the the faster scientists will be able to understand protien folding which will hopefully result in cures for diseases!

It uses your unused CPU capabilities that you aren't using for medical purposes. A program runs on your computer, and these scientists instead of using supercomputers, they use thousands of personal computers. Its just a computer program thats working helping in dealing with protein folding research, for further research regarding curing diseases. Its a good cause.

Proteins are like long beads on a string (thousands) and in order to function properly, they need to fold in a certain way ( beads need to be touching other beads in the proper way). When they don't fold properly, you get diseases like Alzhimers.
Simulations of protein folding take a LOT of computing power since you're trying to model millions of particles over nanosecond-millisecond timeframes.
Normally it takes a couple weeks on a supercomputer (approximately).
The resulting models are approximations that help scientists to figure out the mechanism that the protein of interest uses to fold (im)properly and uses that knowledge to save the world or cure some disease.

This crew is nothing if not compulsive.
Reasons to do this -
1 - It helps my career
2 - VC is against it
3 - It voted in favour of Jose being at the ASG
And for the trolls of the site that I have already ignored:
It thinks Bargnani should officially change his name to Bustnani, Bosh sucks, Jose is the worst defender of all time, Mitchell is the worst coach in the history of coaching, and Colangelo sucks and you would do a better job.

Also, if it is running on your computer, you can make posts about the Leafs on this board. I'd say that about covers all demographics.

Sorry but a lot of the kids on this board have trouble figuring out what a popup blocker is so participating in a distributed computing project is a bit beyond them.
popup blocker...isn't that the lever i push down if i want my Pop Tarts to toast a bit longer?
