f this i dont even care anymore about who we trade the big 3 for, lets just trade them all. KIDD is so overrated he USED to be great now he is only a solid starting pg. VC is a washed up superstar. RJ started off great but now is going back to what he really is a good 3rd option for a good team

Yeah... Right now I expect the Nets to lose as well, they just have no desire to play defense.

Kinda, when i made that statement he had played 6 min and had already gotten 4 boards and shot 1/2. He was really active on the boards though, and he did run better than i've seen all year. I looked at the stats and he got 6 boards in 14 min, not bad for his second or third game back, tied for team high...

The one big man I've seen playing good defense in the two games I've seen since the Swift trade has been Sean Williams, and he's been the first guy thrown under the bus by Coach Frank.

Boone is incredibly soft defensively and puts forth very little effort to block shots. Nachbar and Kristic are just awful defensively.

Williams being treated as he is makes me think that Stromile doesn't have a chance in hell of getting major minutes with this team since Frank prefers bigs who don't put forth good effort defensively over ones who do.

Krstic had a good 1st half in the 2nd half he didn't play that well, but I'll take whatever the Nets can get from him right now.

get swift in a jersey and in the game, as the 6th man, starter anything just get this man minutes with kidd.

maybe hell bring some instant energy on defense and well be able to run the break better.

- boone's defense has been gettin worse , and NACHBAR SUCKSSSSSSSS on D bigtime.

Disagree.

We saw some of the old Nenad defense yesterday. Krstic is a good, active and smart defender. He anticipates. He defends 2 people at a time. He moves his feet, jumping out at shooters and back to his primary responsibility in the paint.

Sean is not a good a defender yet. Other than shot blocking, his reaction to most plays is 1/2 a second slow. He is a rookie, so it's not a problem for now.

Its funny, even with this loss I believe we're the 8th seed in EC if playoffs started today... .5 in front of the Pacers... :eek1:

From what little I've seen of Kristic from past playoff performances I have seen far too much statue defense (feet cemented to floor, hands straight up in the air) for me to consider him as even a decent defensive player...

But being that with the Swift trade this will be the first time I've really seen Krstic play on a regular basis, going in I'm not buying the idea that Krstic is better than Williams defensively, much less the veteran Stromile Swift but I'll do my best to try to be objective.

I can see that Williams, in 21 minutes, is producing 1.9 blocks per game, superior to what Krstic has been able to do even when playing 30+ minutes. Williams offensive rebounding, as a rookie, exceeds the production of Krstic (I know, it's not related to defense), and Williams' defensive rebounding is not far behind given that he has averaged fewer minutes.

Williams' yahoo player file
Krstic's yahoo player file

I'll look for that reaction time, but I think Williams' superior shot blocking and athletic explosion makes him more capable of defending multiple players than Krstic but I'm looking forward to seeing more of both guys.

I'm certainly looking forward to seeing Stromile finally get a chance to play... what's the deal with that??

Sad but true. Everyone outside of the Knicks and Heat still are in it.
Big playoff implication matchup vs Charlotte next LOL ;)

I know with a team this bad many will want to tank for lottery but the only reason I continue to watch this trainwreck is for the hope that they get into the playoffs.

Detroit would abuse them like a rented mule and Boston most likely too (but I think they have a better chance vs Boston than Detroit). 6th seed or greater would be nice lol.

I just want some entertainment back...the Orlando game would be a good cure for an Isomniac.

Orlando's announcers were sadly right on when they said after one Nets offensive play that it seems once the Nets initial play is disrupted they don't seem to know how to restart their offense and end up standing around waiting for someone to do something (this is the play where after a broken play the Nets played hot potato around the perimeter until RJ had to chuck one up at the top of 3pt line before the clock expired..it went in but it was a sad display of this team's offense).

S Will will be the superior defender...Krstic has learned to rotate well, stays in front of his man and even though he doesnt block shots, for awhile he was challenging in the middle which was promising to see...

dont get us wrong, I dont think its us saying he's a good defender...but the fact that Sean is just so raw of a defender, his timing is not the greatest and he is still transitioning to the NBA...defensively (its a quicker game, ect...)

 get used to that...Coach Frank will make sure he has every play memorized before inserting him into a game...

but I think its possible you see him more sooner than later...just throw him out there, let him get into the mix of things>>>FRANK :curse:
