When are you guys going to understand this isnt a good team without Gil and Caron. Those are our TWO BEST PLAYERS, find something new to complain about.

Go around the league, find a team, and take off the best two players....that team would suck too. This is maybe a 15-20 win team without those two.

Injuries suck but every team has been affected by them in some fashion. I don't think it's too much to ask of the team to put out a good effort consistently while winning a few games along the way.

dude, its not like they got blown out by 30 tonight. They put forth the good effort that you're talking about.

I'm almost glad these injuries are happening now so we can hopefully be 100% for the playoffs (that is, if we get in).

You just blow everything way out of proportion. Of course we should try, and it looks like the guys are out there trying to get a W. You're crazy if you dont think they are giving it their all...it's just not a good team right now and YES because of injuries.

We were in that game till the end, against the CHAMPS.

I was at the game last night -- a couple of observations:

1. Our offense (or maybe our players) doesn't take advantage of size mismatches. There was at least one time when we effectively had 2 shooting guards and 3 centers on the court -- Mason, Stevenson, Pecherov, Blatche, and Haywood. The Spurs had a more traditional lineup, with Vaughn or Stoudamire on the court, and Finley guarding one of our 7 footers. But we didn't seek to exploit the size advantages at all -- our guards don't really have post games, not even against a guy of Stoudamire's stature. And Pech still just hoisted up threes, Blatche sought to take guys off the dribble. Our bigs are young, and might develop post games at some point, but the inability to take advantage of those matchups last night was pretty glaring.

2. Duncan got a couple of superstar calls against Haywood. Once Wood got a piece of his shot on a baby hook, and a touch foul was called, and once Wood blocked a sweeping hook -- as cleanly as imaginable -- and Duncan was bailed out. Haywood really did a good job on Duncan.

3. The guys waste a lot of energy on switches. It magnified the depth problems, and as they tired out, a lot of passing lanes opened up allowing Ginobili to hit Duncan on cuts. I love seeing the energy on D, but hope it gets more efficient as players get more acclimated.

4. San Antonio's perimeter D wasn't actually that great, we just struggled to hit shots. The on possession where we had three open looks from three, and all bounced off the back of the rim, was a momentum killer. Had we hit one of those, we would have stopped San Antonio's mini-run in the 4th, and it would have probably stayed close until the end.

5. Oberto punked Blatche an awful lot. I was up in the nosebleeds, and there were an awful lot of Spurs fans around me -- at the start of the game. By the 3rd quarter, the erstwhile Spurs fans were bitching about the dirtiness from Oberto and Bowen. San Antonio is just a hard team to root for.

Guys we didn't win this game because we are missing our two best players, it's that simple. Get use to losing while Butler and Arenas are out.

Not trying to make excuses, but if at the start of the year we asked ourselves how many wins we should expect out of a team where the starters were: AJ, Blatche, Stevenson, AD, BH, and the bench was: Mason, Pech, DSong, Young, we'd probably say maybe we win 33%. There are lots of holes in that lineup right now (maybe when some of our players develop, its a different story). Now throw that lineup against the Spurs, and should you expect a win? Probably not...I'd say we had a 33% shot.

This Wizards team is still fighting and trying to win, but when you lose your best two players, you arent going to look good. If you look at most teams, losing the best player also means you lose the guy who makes you go ala the Dirks, Lbj's, Kg's and so forth. Last year it was Arenas for us, this year it has been Butler...we need ONE of them. Without either we basically blow. Our team has been awesome this year because we have had to all stars to make us go....AJ and Butler.

Detroit would still be alright. But that's just called developing depth within a system, and drafting smart.

EJs head is bronzed in Abe juice. Sadly, he isn't going anywhere.

AJ to the bench isn't going to happen either. Not in a contract year when they most likely want to keep him and he has played awesome this year.

But when you are you guys going to realize, our injured player have nothing to do with EJ sucking. He does that all on his own.

He has a hit flexer and he banged his knee. He was out what 3-4 games and injured the hip again before like 2 games.

If you want him healthy and EJ is your coach, you rest him till after the break. He should only make a token appearance in the game.

And in all those examples you removed a top rated Center and or PF.

We lost a SG/PG and a SF/SG and one of them doesn't play D.

Our situation is a little different and that has a lot to do with why would could have beaten SA in that game.

We are starting AJ, AB, and BH and we have a decent vet PG to go with that. Even without GA and CB we still can line up a very good team.

If we just stayed away from playing Songaila at PF or Center and used the rest of our players right, we are still very dangerous.
