Post#1 » by salaner » Thu Feb 7, 2008 5:52 pm

Starts in a few minutes. You can watch all seven games for a mere 6 euros on live Internet TV, served up by the ACB League here:

Some bookmakers like Bet365 and WillHill are also offering live video for free to their customers (only registration).

First surprise, Barcelona KO. Bilbao played a great match on defense and that was the key for the win. TAU also beat Unicaja and both teams, Bilbao and TAU will face in the first semifinal.

TAU - Unicaja 78:71
Bilbao - Barcelona 70:69

The only player related with NBA who played today was Tiago Splitter (center drafted #28 in 2007 by San Antonio Spurs), who played a poor game. He made early fouls so he didn't play too much time. His stats were 3 points (1/2 and 1/2 FT), 3 rebounds and 3 turnovers in 17 minutes.

Tomorrow there will be 2 matches:
DKV Joventut - Pamesa Valencia 17:45
Real Madrid - Akasvayu Girona 20:00

Those are local times (CET). In East Time i think it's 11:45 and 14:00, and it will be interesting to follow some of these players:

Another player worthy of attention is Pamesa's Victor Claver, a guy quite high in certain Mockdrafts and with pretty good physical tools and natural skills, but who didn't make as much strides as Rubio.

Yeah, I forgot Claver. He got a lot of attention last year in playoffs but this season he is being quite inconsistent. Anyway he is still young (19 years) and has margin for improvement.

Now Joventut and Pamesa are playing (still 1st quarter) and Rudy is being amazing.

An easy blowout by a very impressive DKV Joventut team, and a strong finish by Real Madrid against Akasvayu Girona mean that the two favorites make it to the semis. We'll see if the Madrid defense can contain the lightning-quick Joventut players. Ricky, Claver, Gasol all looked good today.

So I signed up to William Hill just to see if I could watch these games for free, it turns out I can. Great, it's funny how acb are charging a fee though.

Wow, I am a cheap ass.

I don't know how WillHill is streaming the cup but Bet365 shows exactly the same format ACB is streaming, a Flash Player with two qualities, Normal and Fast, so after I paid ACBLive subscription and I noticed I could watch it in Bet365 for free I wasn't too happy :wavefinger: .

Tau and Badalona will battle it out in the final, I only caught parts of the second semi and missed the first semi all together. What an awful 3rd quarter by Real Madrid, bad shots, TO's, travels, charging calls... Horrible.

Finally Joventut won the tournament and Rudy Fernandez was the MVP. The result was 82-80 and these were the individual stats in the final.
