Charlie V has the potential to be an All Star.
Eh. If this is the case, why would he be moved to his third team in 2 and a half years? It's possible that he pulls a Billups and moves around in his first couple of years and then develops but it's unlikely. That said, I do want him if it only costs us Carney and filler.

You know I'm with on Blatche but I can't see Washington parting with him unless he's part of a package trade that brings Washington a bigger name player.
Iguodala and Jason Smith would be on the next flight out of Philly for Andray Blatch Nick Young and Roger Mason...
C. Dalembert
PF. Blatche
SF. Thad
SG. Nick Young
PG. Andre Miller
I believe the front court of Dalembert, Blatch, and Thad would be a championship level frontcourt in just a couple of years. I like OJ Mayo at PG in the draft. I would definitely trade Miller.

You're out of control and I don't appreciate you playing with my emotions like this. I want Blatche but I just can't back that trade.

I think Nick Young will be nothing more than a rotation player on a good team so he doesn't put this deal over the top for me.
I would put Blatche on the backburner and make a run at Okafor first in the summer. If I strike out on a lot of other options, than I would take a gamble on an unproven big man.

this trade is so bad for the sixers it offends me. new worst proposed trade on this board definitely goes to this one.
i'm starting to feel like SendEM disrespects iguodala just to start trouble, because this suggestion is just absurd and i cannot believe any legitimate sixer fan would say this, unless it's a dumb joke.

TGP,
I like Okafor but I'm really at a loss as to who I'd rather have here between Okafor and Josh Smith. I see Okafor as a younger version of Elton Brand, a guy who's probably going to develop some really nice post moves and a PF who will be instrumental in the half court sets. On the other hand, I think Smith's speed and athleticism really would lend itself to our style of play. Shame we can't try them both out first and then make our decision. I should go back to the stats and see how they both matched up with they played each other...
After watching last night's game and some of the other games this season, I'm really starting to think that this roster can have great success IF we can stay close through 3 quarters and then insert the youth group in the 4th. I just don't see many teams having the athletes nor the speed to match up well with Iguodala, Williams, Thad, Carney, or Sam. When these guys go full out (this includes on the defensive end too), they're really hard to stop. With this in consideration, I think Smith is the obvious choice.
However, I think this teams needs both types of PF's - one with Smith's ability and speed as well as one with Okafor's post up game. Problem is, we don't have the assets to get both. So do you hope to develop Jason Smith into the post up PF and go after Josh Smith? Do you go after Okafor instead knowing you're giving up on Smith, who seems like the more natural fit? Do you go after whichever one you can get and then draft a PF with our pick? Lots to consider I guess.

When I propose trades I propose realistic ones. Normally a person on this website would only propose trades where their team CLEARLY wins hands down. But the Sixers just might have to give up a proven perimeter player in Iguodala to get Blatche. You need bigs to win championships in this league, perimeter players are easy to come by because there are so many of them. When you recognize a legit big with talent and potential you have to make a move on that player. It doesn't hurt that the Wizards franchise has produced atleast 4 ALL Star power forwards in the last 15 years and 3 of them blossomed once they were traded away. Sheed, Webber, Big Ben, Jamison.
I also like the cap friendly nature of Blatche's contract. You trade away Iguodala BEFORE you sign him to a long term deal and reap the savings. At that point the Sixers could trade Miller or let his contract expire and be in a position to OVERPAY a free agent perimeter player in the summer of 09. Baron Davis, Jason Kidd...Or wait to Summer of 2010 when Lebron and Wade are free agents...

Nick Young has a great deal of Michael Redd type potential in him, where he will fly under the radar and just burst onto the scene one season after he becomes a starter. Nick Young dunked on Lebron with two hands. http://youtube.com/watch?v=9uGuD0QKZyU

One note on this...
The draft is before FA so we will already know what we got via the draft before we go after any particualr player via FA.
