You dont give up on a talent as unique as Andrei's, even if it is volatile. Thats the kind of player he is, why should his seasons be any different?

I don't think it's possible, because other players will start to go against it. AK mentioned it in his blog.

I'm fairly certain that contracts can't be renegotiated downward. Basically meaning that players aren't allowed to take a pay cut from a contract they've already agreed to, even if they want to.
