No way
I also seriously question if LK is in over his head, but this isn't a talented basketball team. We have only three solid to good starters and no bench, that's far and away the biggest reason the Bucks are under .500.
Remember .500 is the current east isnt saying much.
But I do think this team is capable from a talent standpoint to be .500.
But bad coaching and bad chemistry/attitudes is whats holding them back.
Keep in mind im not saying that I think we need a new coach or whatever, hell even if we got a good coach that got this team to play to its full potential everynight we'd still only .500 at best.
I think the team needs to be blown up for a numbers of reasons.
All im saying is if this team realy wanted to and came to play every night they could be .500 in my opinion.
Look at that 7-4 start when we beat some quality teams,if the Bucks brought that kind intensity and effort every single night we'd be at least .500 and be more competitive on a nightly bases
I just don't see the talent you do to think the Bucks should be a .500 team.
Mo/Redd/Bogut are the only decent to good starters on the team. Dez is a terrible starting SF and the production we've got from the PF position on the year has been quite subpar. The bench is poor. Where is the talent i'm missing?
The Nets have three quality starters in Kidd/Carter/Jefferson and no bench, they also aren't close to being a .500 team. Atlanta has better talent IMO than we do, they aren't a .500 team.
Just because we had a nice start to the year doesn't really prove anything to me about the quality of talent. Basketball is like baseball in that both leagues play a lot of games, their seasons are much more a marathon than a sprint. Long seasons like that separate expose the pretenders, nearly impossible to mask a lack of talent over so many games.
I don't doubt there could be some chemistry issues on the Bucks, i see no clear leader on the roster, and this team is hardly overflowing in mental toughness. With that all said, intensity and mental toughness can only cover for talent shortages over short spans and eventually the lack of talent gets exposed by more talented teams.
That's where the Bucks are at. They have no great player. They get terrible production from starters at both SF/PF and the bench is crap. The team seriously lacks skilled defenders. The roster desperately needs some better athletes. These are glaring talent short falls that chemistry or more experienced coaching can't cover up for.
Maybe with better coaching and a mentally tougher team the Bucks would have won a few more games, but nowhere near to being a .500 team. The roster simply isn't good enough.
