OT - Al Horford

Post#1 » by RIPskaterdude » Thu Feb 7, 2008 6:48 pm

Did any of you watch the Lakers - Hawks game last night? Horford had 15 points and 20 rebounds matched up against Gasol (although Gasol isn't very good at boxing out). How many of you are kicking yourself that we couldn't trade ANYTHING and EVERYTHING we had to get up the board to draft this kid? He is going to be amazing very very soon.

I was hot and heavy for Horford during the draft, there just wasn't a realistic way of moving up for him outside of perhaps Martin and a pick swap and that looked pretty expensive back in June.

I've always said Kevin Martin is our best trading piece. The Hawks have Joe Johnson so I don't think we could have dealt him there anyway.

I said I thought Horford would be the best player out of Oden/Durant and I still believe that.

I wanted him as much as anybody... he would of been excellent for us. Just the type of big this team needed.

I love the guy, he's already become a favorite player of mine. Going to be a multi-all star, multiple All-NBA-defensive team (All-NBA level defender anyway), multi All-NBA team. Potential DPOY, regular DPOY canidate. Going to be a quality two-way big man.

He's been guarding the other team's best offensive big man, and, has done the job respectably supposedly. More from what I've heard than seen.

I would of definitely traded Kevin/#10 or Kevin to get Horford.

I still side more to Horford between he and B. Wright, as well.

The 3rd pick wasn't available, they didn't trade it for Amare, that's as high as it could get in trading values.
