Kidd trades(from Nets fan)

Post#1 » by kidd007 » Thu Feb 7, 2008 8:13 pm

here, i'm gonna post two trades that i would consider, being a Nets fan, and a Kidd fan.Wanna know what do you guys think of it.
NJN get:Drew Gooden,Larry hughes,Daniel Gibson,1st round pick
CLE get:Kidd,M.Allen,D.Armstrong
OR..i was thinking of a 3-way deal with SAC
NJN get:M.Bibby,Hughes, and Gibson(maybe CLE add a 1st)
CLE get:Kidd,M.Allen,D.Armstrong
SAC get:Gooden,Damon Jones.
So...what do you guys think?

I really think that the Nets should just keep Kidd. I don't think he's a particularly good fit and I think he costs too much. Of course there are Cavs fans who will be gung ho for this but man, Gooden, Hughes, Gibson and a first really hampers us IMO.

Ya, I don't see us giving up all that much for Kidd. I could see us giving Boobie for him, but then you don't get Gooden and a 1st.

I'd pass. At this point I'd honestly rather get Mike Miller than JKidd.

Cheaper and fits in perfectly with his size and shooting ability

I don't even want Kidd's aging and declining skills as it is... I'm sure as hell not going to part with Boobie nor a #1

We aren't going anywhere if we lose Gooden, Hughes and Gibson...And Gibson's out of the question.. I'd be willing to part with Larry or Gooden in any deal to upgrade, but to gut the team for someone else is a poor notion, especially if that guy is a 35 year old...

Mike Miller FTW

agreed but lebron seems to have a hard on for jkidd...apparently mvp hasnt looked at the 20 mil salary that mr kidd currently enjoys and how to get him, we would have to gut the team - no thank you

I am also a Kidd fan. The real problem with your proposals is that you (and Thorn) want too much for a guy that only has a couple years left.

I understand that he's Jason Kidd, and that he is a first-ballot hall-of-fame lock, but at this point in his career he is a step slower.

He has played outstanding ball for New Jersey, but should a club really gamble that much on a single player that is not only past his prime, but requires the club to give-up so much in return?

If the Nets had a chance to get Shaq, would you give-up Jefferson, Boone, Magloire, and a 1st round pick? EVEN if he was 100% healthy?

That is what you are asking us to do.

Would we like to have Kidd? Yes. But it cannot be done because either way, one of us will get screwed.

Here is my ONLY counter offer: Larry Huges, Eric Snow, 3 million cash, 2008 1st rounder, 2009 2nd rounder.

That is the best I can do for Kidd.

Otherwise...LeBron will just have to keep text-messaging him, and wait till this summer to play on the same team.[/b]

C'mon

I'm all for comments like Kidd doesn't fit, Miller is a better fit, I'd rather have Miller, etc.
I especially agree with comments like Kidd is not even near the shooter Miller is.. and Miller would be better long term or from this point on

but you Sir went WAY OVER THE TOP!

only one of the two is a certain Hall Of Famer at this point
it's a team sport.. it's more than just the numbers.. and you ridiculously underestimate Kidds ability to make everyone around him better..

Can you say MAN CRUSH!

I hope so because you got one!

Let's hope Ferry can get Miller here so you can be close to him

yea the mike miller obsession is getting a little out of hand. imo he would not make the cavs better than kidd would not by a long shot. Kidd would solve alot of our problems maybe just about all of them besides shotblocking. he would pick our pace up and he is able to gaurd pg's i think kidd is the type of pg that could turn larry into the guy we signed. Even though kidd is 35 i think he has 3-4 solid years left hes not a guy who relies on speed and quickness to breakdown defenses he has to be one of the most intelligent pgs to play basketball and with his skills and ability to create shots for others he is the type of guy to end our scoring droughts by creating high percentage shots.
