This is the first, and only year you will see rashard at the 4 so the things you mentioned are bound to happen.

I also think of a deal like this was to go down (highly unlikely) you would see us go after a scorer with the MLE like Maggette

The entire team is built around punishing double teams with three points. You do not seem to get this. Rashard will 100% be our PF next year.

Dude theres NO way.

He regularly complains about playing PF.

It was just an accident that he started playing PF with Battie getting hurt.

I will bet anything.

Rashard has never complained about playing PF. He knew when he signed here he would be. You are making that up.

The Magic need a true power forward, a rebounder and defender, preferably.

If they can get a starter --- hello, Kurt Thomas -- they can move Rashard Lewis back to his natural small forward spot and slide Hedo Turkoglu to shooting guard.

Lewis is frustrated and can't play power forward forever, trying to defender bigger guys inside.

That not a quote by Rashard.

That's just Schmitz saying the same thing that all of us are saying.

I'm not hating; It's just that I've never heard Rashard complain about it and you are claiming that he regularly complains about it.

So are you seriously trying to say that brian doesnt know anything about these kind of things.

Plus ive heard other people say it, even if Rashard hasnt came out and said it publicly, that wouldnt be classy.

So is everyone just making it up too?

I agree we need a Kurt Thomas type banger PF, but we need one to come in as a 6th man. Hedo and Jameer would get torched as a backcourt. Hedo and Shard as the forwords works much better.

Look...

You said:

He regularly complains about playing PF.

I've never heard Rashard complain about it. I've never heard it in an interview, in post game comments, or read it in the paper.

All I'm asking is where you're getting this from, because I haven't seen it.

OBVIOUSLY hes said it.

You are being childish if you act like you dont realize this.

Remind me how Kirilenko performed in the Playoffs last year.

Also, the Phoenix comparison is not a good analogy.

I think this is one of those deals where both teams pass.

In the first round, it was his help defense on Yao and the ability to run the offense when Williams needed a breather that got them past the Rockets. He was the one who took over offensively in game 6 and forced game 7 for his team. Then in round 2 he went nuts guarding everyone from Steve Jackson to Baron Davis in order to end the Warriors storybook run. He wasn't scoring a bunch but his defense and passing was key.

This team needs someone who can run, defend, and finish. Around the basket, he's a fantastic finisher because of his insanely long arms. He also gets the to free throw line a lot. Defensively he's a beast, but playing away from the basket takes away one of his best skills, shot blocking. His length and superior timinglet's him get to a lot of shots. He gets tons of steals on reach-ins and is virtually impossible to shoot over.

I think Utah makes this deal because they realize that they are misusing a guy who they owe a lot of money to. They would glady take on Hedo's versatility. I think Orlando should do it because it gives us an elite defensive presence and we have a player who can fill Hedo's role as playmaker (hopefully) in Rashard. This guy was an All-Star before Boozer came to town and slid him to the 3. WHy not take a chance?

KingRobb02 wrote:Well, the thing is that some fans are fine with winning 50 games and losing in the second round and some fans are more concerned with winning it all. In the west, if you can't compete for a title, you might as well fold and try again next year. This is why the team with the best record just made a huge move. The Suns look as good as they ever have, but they weren't afraid to go for the extra edge by shaking things up and giving away their best defender. people say that teh Suns need defense as well, so why wouldn't Utah be similarly inclined to make a move if we offered something they like? As for the people who claim Otis loves Hedo too much, face it, GM's have to protect their jobs. If he thinks that trading a hot commodity for a better chance at the finals is possible, he does it every time. Just last week Riley was campaigning for Shaq to be an All Star. You have to buy low and sell high to be a good GM in this league.

I disagree. I think Otis acts like he still a player. Players always think they have the group to win the title. They just need to play better and play together longer. You ask 90% of the players and they think the group of players they have now is close to winning it all. No need to trade any of us. Otis is just like that. In Otis opinion this team doesn't need to trade core players for Gasol or anyone.

AK if I'm right has resisted playing PF in the past.

I've never heard Rashard complain. I've heard him say how much he loves playing in this offense when the season started. The whole Rashard not happy at PF IMO is just a cop out. Rashard numbers won't go up at whatever position he plays. For him to have a bigger impact he would need more plays called for him.

Again you are changing the facts to suit your arguement. You showed that one person said it, not people around the entire organization. Never join a debate team dude.
