Injured point guard Devin Harris welcomed teammates back home Wednesday no longer wearing the protective boot on his left foot.
"I wanted to kick him on the ankle," Mavericks coach Avery Johnson said, almost certainly kidding. "Would that have been good?"
Probably not, since the bone bruise on his left ankle will definitely keep him out through All-Star weekend, another five games away. Harris said he hopes to return to the lineup at New Orleans on Feb. 20, the first game back from the break.
"When I'm under water I feel good," said Harris, who's doing his only running these days on the underwater treadmill. "When I'm on dry land it's still sore."
Harris is also working out on the stationary bike and lifting weights.
"He actually started to get some biceps," Johnson quipped.

Damn Cat, I just had the weirdest vision. Devin's head on Malone's body. That would be hilarious!
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...
