Post#1 » by bobobolas1 » Fri Feb 8, 2008 1:17 pm

Hello rap fans.

Garbo is planning to go to olympic games in pekin this summer.

I know he is supposed to be healty by march if errything is ok but the thing is... when is he going to realize that he needs to rest in summer? it is like starting over.

Im not a rap fan but when i rode that new in a newspaper...what can i say?

Id like to watch him in playoffs...

Good luck raps!

If he's actually healthy this time this is good news. He hasn't played healthy in almost a year. I'd rather he plays some good competition than just sits around. It's only comparable if his ankle isn't healing properly again.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

sorry about the source, i just found it in spanish.

it is like what the coach of the spanish team said. He said he spoke to garbo and He told he wants to be in the olimpycsno matter how. the spanish team will be together by 2nd july.
They also add that raps can only suggest garbo to rest, nothing else.

I realize you are from Finland which is why I'll correct you without being a jerk about it.

"rode" is not the proper past tense of read.
The past tense form of read(pronounced r-ee-d) is spelt the same way, read.
The proper way to say it is the same way you would say the color red

"rode" is actually the past tense form of the word ride

Garbajosa was afraid of coming to play in the NBA. He had recieved offers from other teams before Colangelo but was never convinced. Fortunately, Jose convinced him that the NBA would be beneficial for his career. However, the physical prowess of the NBA players eventually cought up to Garbo's mens-league athletism/ body and the thing he feared most occured.

My advice to Jorge:
Go play! Have fun! Enjoy! Your contract is almost up anyway... People have screwed up their contracts/teams in much worse ways in the past. Playing for your country is a huge honour.

Besides, he will be very rusty next season if he doesn't.

I agree. I hate people who correct other people's post.

Like I could point out that its Beijing and hasn't been Peking in years and even when it was, it was spelled Peking, not pekin.

But I'm not that sort of person.

I'm above that.

What's with the English lesson?

This guy is in Finland, reading a Spanish article and writing to us in English. He certainly doesn't need any lessons from you.

And when he wrote 'rode', instead of 'read', you knew what he meant so...
Booo on you.

As for Garbo, I see the point from both sides.

But you can understand his motivation to play for his national team. The Spanish team has always been successful, and they are his brethren there. Here in Toronto, things haven't been perfect to say the least.

And I also think as an athlete gets older he realizes there may not be many moments left in order to play. As Kenny says, "There are only so many jumps in a man's knees" and Garbo wants to jump for his country.

Hi Finland!

Here's an English lesson for you:

It's 'received', not 'recieved'.

It's 'caught', not 'cought'

It's 'athleticism', not 'athletism'

It's 'occurred', not 'occured'

At first I was going to correct the copious amounts of spelling errors in your post but dacrusha beat me to that.

Instead, I'll just point out that your post is ridiculous. Why do you think that Garbo was scared of the NBA? There's no basis for that. Garbo is one of the most fearless players in the NBA.

Garbo didn't get hurt because his athleticism was lacking...he got hurt in a freak accident.

Garbo had a great season as a Raptor and many people who know a lot more than you are convinced that he would have been the difference in the Nets series if he had been healthy.

This leaves a sour taste especially because of what has transpired of the last year.

Its almost like hes getting paid and taking our cap space to play outside of the NBA.

He should be healthy by Beijing. And after missing the majority of the past NBA season, maybe playing some intense bball prior to training camp next fall will do him good.

It will also help the Raps gauge his recovery status prior to next season.

Garbo Insurance Result/Update?

Post#18 » by Cairo » Fri Feb 8, 2008 4:11 pm

Anyone know of the result of the Garbo insurance fiasco that we had with Spain?

Doesn't look like it's been discussed.

Hilarious...love it when people act all high and mighty correcting people who don't have English as their first language, but they themselves make awful mistakes...Happens ALL THE TIME.
