I just got done listening to D'Antoni on "Mike & Mike" over on ESPN Radio. When asked what his reaction was when he was called into the office and told Shaq was available he responded with, "....after I picked myself up off the floor" .......he then continued on with the only question lingering in his head was "how much did he have left" and after he talked with him he was convinced he was and feels a change of scenery is a big factor here with the other players he's got. He also said, "You guys have been debating this for 24 hours now and most of you feel no. I think you're wrong. I think he's going to have a profound effect on this team. Our medical guys think his issues are correctable." That comment is even taken further by Kerr's comments in the AZ Republic:

............I think at this point you can stop speaking on behalf of D'Antoni.
Yep, let's see when he can start playing and how many games he can play and hope for the best.
And I'm not speaking on behalf of him, just from what I read/heard/seen, initially, this was Kerr's idea, not Mike. Like SDU said, though, Nash and Amare were pushing for him as well, so that's the good sign.
You call me b*tching, so what. Just like when people keep b*tching about Sarver being a cheap owner or what-not and keep making threads about it. I think I'm free to voice my displeasure and my opinions of the decision they made. At least I didn't spam the board with my b*tching. Of course what's done is done and I'll have to get used to either watching him on the court or watching him on the bench in street cloth.
I'm not off the bandwagon. I've been watching the Suns since the Barkley era, not a local fan but I love this team and will always support them.
I made it through the atrocious Barkley deal. Called it crap. Turned out to be crap.
I made it through the awful Kidd trade. Said it was bad. Got us nowhere.
I praised the Marbury trade, and it turned out to be one of the best moves this franchise has made.
I've endured moronic draft-pick and expiring contract dumping and I'll endure this unfortunate error in judgment.
It took half of a season for the Barkley trade to be undone, but unfortunately, I'll probably have to wait two years for the damage of the Shaq trade to be remedied.
I would love to be proven wrong. Just like when I said Boris Diaw is nothing but a garbage time player. I was wrong. I hope Shaq can prove me wrong this time too. But right now this trade appears to be one of the worst. Shaq is done, he was done last year, this year he just can't hide it anymore and it's not worth $20 million on this team.
Please prove me wrong
