I met with Gladman last May to inquire about any potential openings or internships available at RapsTV. He was an extremely nice guy and a hardcore basketball fan, but during our conversation he mentioned that he prefers to work behind the scenes because he doesn't feel comfortable in front of a camera.

I can't understand for the life of me why he is now hosting FCP.

I have no doubt that Gladman is a nice guy and the same goes for Paul Johnson. But these people are out of their element in the position that they have been placed. You would think that the marketing machine that MLSE is that they would put in place the right people for these roles and at least make an effort to give these shows a professional and watchable image. The way these shows are now, they are pretty tacky.

I have never seen Leafs TV. I wonder if it has the same production values (or lack of) as Raps TV.

If I'm not mistaken, Jack Armstrong filled in for Norma from time to time. At the very least, I have seen him host Raptors Today a few times. They should have him host the show. If not Jack, then hire Eric Smith to host. He hosts on the radio anyway, right?

Plus they have to go back to the old format of just talking basketball. This camera in the studio with Dan Gladman hosting from a different location is awful.

yeah i guess its just an overall dissapointment in the quality then a hate for pj/dan in particular. i suppose i hate the fact that they have pj and dan on there programing and not some recognizable or atleast credible basketball minds. theres usaully maybe 2 or 3 guys i can listen on tho. its more like a fan discussion then a expert one. the panel of choice for me would be eric smith, jack armstrong, doug smith and either jones, grange or sherm. not sure if grange was on there last year i vaguely remember him being there tho.

leo is alright i get kind of sick of him i guess cause he is on nearly every tv broadcast and you are hearing his opinion the most. smith n jones dont get any hate from me cause i never listen to the radio broadcast, only in desperate situations.

yeah and if i had to choose between leafs and raptors tv i still go with the raps. kind of sad to say. sorry, i just dont feel like watching peewee hockey on saturday afternoon. i also dont like being bombarded with the marlies either.

She was let go.... Not sure the exact reasons as to why, remember hearing her contract was up and there were budget cuts, but who knows...

Yep, MLSE doesn't make enough money so they fire competent people and bring in rookies who need tons of work because they'll work for peanuts.

I think they were paying her by the word.

We should start a letter-writing campaign to the producers of FCP.
If Chuck can get spammed all to hell for being a Homer for voting for Bargs, we've gotta be able to rally the troops to get those clowns replaced by good knowledgeable basketball folk.

I think having a larger rotation of people to draw on -- say, some of the writers for various papers, Smith (eric), Jones, Armstrong, Rautins, Chuck even -- and a non-idiotic format could make the show so much better.

Rogers could also pretend their deal with MLSE means something and air it on SportsNet.

EDIT: Heck, we could even sub in some of our injured players. Anyone remember when Vince was out and would sit in on broadcasts?

This is exactly why I cancelled my subscription to Raptors TV. A half-retarded 5-year old could probably put together a better production than any of the original content on this channel. I go to a friends house to watch the extra games. My grandmother could provide more insightful commentary than most people on there and she doesn't even know if she's wearing pants most of the time.

Like other posters have mentioned, the only good show left on RTV is double dribble with Smith and Jones, whenever it's on I still try to make sure to watch it because they talk about everything and usually are interesting to listen to.

FCP is just a joke now. I dont think anyone anticipated RTV missing Nomah this much.

Gladman is awful. If hes not comfortable infront of a tv camera dont put him on tv, wtf are they thinking?

If it wasn't for the games that Raps TV carries, news conferences, some of the Euroball and NBA TV stuff, I would drop it too.

Like I said before, go to this link http://www.nba.com/raptors/contact/contactusnew.html , click on Raptors NBA TV and tell these bozo's what you think. But, be tactful.

It is the only way that we can get them to make changes.

Yeah this show has lost what it once had. Dan is horrible, the shows pace moves on way to fast that you can't even have a conversation about a topic anymore. Its just "Jack what do you think? Leo What do you think?" etc. Its HORRIBLE. If this Dan guy had anything in firing Norma he should be fired as well. This show stinks now

And the only thing that Berry guy said this week that I sort of agreed with was when he said instead of JKidd they should get Mike Miller cuz LeBron can create himself but he needs shooters. BUUUUUT Miller plays the SAME POSITION!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I haven't seen it. I might have watched a bit once or twice but I like RTV for the pre and post game stuff (I don't watch it that much but during weekends its nice to sit and watch and get prepared for the game while they talk about the game). They show some good games sometimes too. That's pretty much it. Double Dribble's good too.

Eric Smith is by far my favorite Raptor analyst.

Same here. I also prefer him and Paul Jones calling games than Chuck & Leo, but that's another thing altogether.

What I wanna know is how those guys don't get more studio time when they're at home.

Heck, they could stick a couple of RealGMers having a conversation in there and it'd be better than half the FCP shows. Actually, that could be an entertaining segment -- just have some dude at RapsTV surf the RealGM raps board! :p
