Now, Sam, I don't necessarily agree with your point of view here. But I truly think that your statement is closer to the truth than those who believe that the Suns just officially dropped themselves out of contention. The Big Fella as a role player on a high powered offensive team sounds nice to me. I mean at the very least he's a more talented and championship proven Eric Dampier. That actually makes Shaq the best Center the Suns have had in the Steve Nash era. The Suns now have a more balanced roster and can adjust to the slow down style that wins in the playoffs by pounding the ball inside to Shaq and Amare while spacing the floor with great shooters in Nash, Barbosa, Bell, Diaw, and Hill. I really, really like this move if Shaq can stay healthy, which I admit is certainly a big IF.

It is simple really. Nash penetrates. Stop him if you can. If you can't he can dish to Shaq or Amare. Stop them after a Nash pass. You cannot. Nobody can.
Even a nearly washed up Shaq still has enough to catch and dunk with authority. He can still do what Perkins is asked to do.... and he can do it much better and with much greater finish. He cannot carry a team of 2 superstars and a bunch of veteran stiffs any more. But he can be the best 5th starter the league has ever seen.
Any doubts the team has about winning should be erased with Shaq in the huddle. His 3 wins and swagger will propel this team. This is his last hurrah but it will be fun to watch.

"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."
