isn't a waiting period for player getting cut and returning to his former team? i know there was rumors of kwame getting cut by the grizz and returning to the lakers but there was like a 30 day waiting period.

I was misinformed, and you are right. The Gary Payton rule is the rule which states that. Well, I'd still like the trade to occur, I'll find some other scrubs to fill out my team :P

Since this trade has gone through...Boston wishes to sign both Darrell Armstrong and Dikembe Mutombo for the rest of the season (pro-rated veteran minimum...which is what they were being paid, and both players playing on a one year deal). The draw for both vets is one final chance at winning another NBA title before their careers come to an end.

It didn't? Hard to tell.

Oh well.

The Celtics sign 2 D-League players:

Devin Green (LA Defenders)

Image

Randy Livingston (Idaho Stampede)

Both for the remainder of the season for whatever the veteran minimum is.

hmm apparently that won't work... :S

But I just realised I was making it a lot more complicated then necessary because the PHX and HOU players I got with the TPE could just come to me directly in the first trade and it still works cap wise.

[Dallas cuts Mo Ager before deal]

Dallas sends:

Desagna Diop-2,146,000
Jason Terry-8,898,000
Trenton Hassell-4,350,000
2008 1st

Total = 15394000 x 1.25 = 19242500 > 18408343

Dallas receives:

Shawn Marion-16,440,000
Dikembe Mutombo-770,610
DJ Strawberry-427,123
Darrel Armstrong-770,610

Total = 18,408,343

PHX sends:

Shawn Marion-16,440,000
Raja Bell-4,750,000
DJ Strawberry-427,123
Darrel Armstrong-770,610

Phoenix receives:

Desagna Diop-2,146,000
Trenton Hassell-4,350,000
Rafer Alston-4,550,000
Bonzi Wells-2,284,000
Hakim Warrick-1,376,040
Luther Head-1,122,000
2008 1st DAL

Houston Sends:

Rafer Alston-4,550,000
Bonzi Wells-2,284,000
Hakim Warrick-1,376,040
Dikembe Mutumbo-770,610
Luther Head-1,122,000

Houston receives:

Jason Terry-8,898,000
Raja Bell-4,750,000

So the deal works cap wise as DAL's part works and all the other parts have always worked cap wise. The difference is that now DAL starts with 14 players after cutting Ager and ends with 15. HOU starts with 15 and ends with 12. PHX starts with 12 and ends with 14. So now all the player counts work.

Don't see the need to re-accept as talent traded is still the same, as before it is just technicalities except now I am 100% that the deal works.

Also, this deal has been around for more than 18 hours, just changed the technicalities so I'm going to assume it is approved.

Since we now seem to be freely signing D-League players, the Sonics would like to sign Rod Benson, also at the minimum salary.

Guys, figure out your own minimum salaries based on experience.

http://www.insidehoops.com/minimum-nba-salary.shtml

That being said, the Raptors would like to sign Sammy Mejia to a one year contract for $427,163.

A change has to be made in the deal I made with Sacramento a little while back (was never accepted for some reason):

Anthony Parker
Joey Graham
2010 2nd Rounder (Toronto)
for
Ron Artest

Raptors accept. (Kings are going to accept momentarily, just busy for the moment)

Toronto and Atlanta have come to a deal after a great amount of negotiating:

TJ Ford
Rasho Nesterovic
Kris Humphries
Carlos Delfino
for
Solomon Jones
Shelden Williams
Anthony Johnson
Joe Johnson

Toronto Accepts.

Trade ID #4484165
Atlanta Accepts

While we give up Joe Johnson we get solid depth and FINALLY a starting calibre point guard to run the team.

I'd like to veto that Toronto/Atlanta deal.

Atlanta trades Joe Johnson for an injury prone TJ Ford. On top of that, they throw in Shelden Williams, the player with the most potential in the deal, and a nice expiring?

Get out of here, no way.

C'on guys.. lets not veto the deal just for the heck of it. I think its a fair deal for both sides. Sure TJ's value is down, and sheldon is buried deep on the bench. Atlanta gets Hump, delfino and Rasho, all good pieces.

I didn't say he had much potential. I said he had the most potential in the deal.

Oh I see. Your a Raptors fan so you make an awful trade to help out the Raptors.

Duncanfan wrote:HORNETS MAKING A MOVE FOR ARENAS?

Chad Ford, ESPN Online

Believe it or not folks, the small market New Orleans Hornets are leaving no stones unturned in making sure that they have one of the best teams in the league - if not the best. If rumors are to believed, the Hornets' front office has been sending out feelers to the New York Knicks about star-guard Gilbert Arenas. Arenas, 25, is widely expected to opt-out of his contract at the end of season in hopes of a bigger, better long-term deal. While the Hornets have CP3 pulling the strings at the PG position, it is expected that Arenas will be playing at the shooting guard spot in what will make it the league's best backcourt, hands down. However, the Knicks don't appear to be keen on letting the out-spoken guard leave the Mecca of BasketBall, Arenas has been quoted as saying that he would welcome such a move if it were to happen. The Hornets have proposed a package of Youth, expirings, and future draft picks to test the resolve of the Knicks' front office. Although a deal is nowhere close to happen, don't be surprised if you see Gilbert being a regular feature on Burban street come next season.

the all non defensive backcourt if u have gilbert playing sg
also u have way too much time on your hands my friend
