Anyway, that kind of pissed me off and is another facet to the point that the OP and the previous post are alluding to.

landry is a monstrous puckhead and tool.......... i remember him ripping the SEC championship game (LSU vs. Georgia) a few years ago as boring. whereas he thought canada-germany in front of 300 fans at the world juniors in europe was much more exciting... i mean, give your F head a shake. 70,000 fans going insane in a dome vs. 300 fans, most of whom are family of the players. these guys seem to have no idea that no other country seems to care on iota about the world juniors in hockey. seriously, does 1 person in 1,000 in the USA even know it's on? and i think those numbers might be conservative.

And oddly, the only reason I know when the Juniors is on is because I live in Canada and the media won't shut up about it.

Not shatting on the Juniors. If people like it, good for them. Just saying that being oblivious to its existence wouldn't hurt me in the slightest.

yeah, the world juniors are funny.......... no one cared about it 15 years ago until TSN promoted the sh***t out of it. good for TSN actually smart business.

but seriously no one cares.........

i agree with the doctor that mike hogan is a good guy and very open-minded about sports.

i wasn't sure who mike toth is, but now that i do, he seems like a bit of an idiot....... those whole "sports calgary style" and same for edmonton are basically indirect hockey references. and apparently toth was mr. calgary........ someone should google toth as i think he had a physical confrontation with a producer. i can't believe you don't get fired for that (although i suppose he might not have been instigator)

Smith wrote in his blog today that he got a lot of emails about this topic from various people so he posted the interview in his blog on the Fan 590 website.

It's pretty interesting to listen to. He did say he wanted to "shoot himself" (I was surprised he said that) and he does a pretty decent job of trying to stand up for basketball and us basketball fans out there.

You've got to scroll down a bit to the thing that says Quick Hitter or Quick Hits or whatever.

nelsonm@fan590.com

if you want to write re: baskeball or - in my case - Toth.

Somebody should start a basketball only radio station - I know it wouldn't be feasible as a business but I'd tune in to it. Hell, do it over the internet, I'll pay 5 bucks a month.

Don't worry, Toth's big mouth will get him canned pretty soon. I was listening to him and Hogan last week and they started talking about the rock and roll sound of th 50's and Elvis. Toth tried to make some point about black artists influencing Elvis but instead of calling them black musicians he called them Negros. I haven't heard that term since I watched Roots. I guess, according to him, black musicians in the 50's were negroes but after 1960 they all of a sudden were termed as black artists. You could hear the uncomfortable pause and Hogan didn't say anything and then Toth started babbling on to try and make up for the poor choice of words. He tries to be cute with his phrases but it will be his undoing.

screw the puckheads once we have an NFL team the Leafs will be 2nd and I would much rather hear NFL talk 24\7 than the NHL.
