Diesel in Phoenix

Post#1 » by Jimmy103 » Sat Feb 9, 2008 12:41 am

Hey guys, I have been reading this forum a bit lately (I'll give you two guess why, but I think you'll only need one) and wanted to chime in:

A lot of you thought the Shaq trade was ATROCIOUS when the rumors started, people called it flat out blasphemy. And ya know what, I agreed, I thought it was an AWFUL fit. (keep reading before you lock it)

I'm watching NBA Shootaround and Stephen A. Smith brings up a GREAT point. The Showtime Lakers utilized Kareem by running their fast break and then if that broke down the lagging Kareem would come down and provide a strong inside presence. Shaq can EXCEL in that role in Phoenix. Miami is BARREN of talent outside of D-Wade. Now he's in a position where he doesn't have to lead the charge, just do some dirty work. He's going to be a FANTASTIC addition to the Suns, I CAN NOT wait until Shaq's first game in a Suns uni.

I was just listening to Smith and Walton discuss that as well. For the Suns to be compared to the "Showtime Lakers" can only mean good things.

At any rate...IBTL

Kareem is ALWAYS in good shape and he still has a very effective sky hook even at the age of 40 and that Lakers team had a goat coach in Pat Riley.

I want to believe...

I considered posting this in the Shaq trade thread...but I was more making a point about Stephen A.? I dunno, why not just take the compliment?

Thanks man for the stuff. I have heard this from a lot of people, and believe this trade is a huge risk that will pan out with the suns finially getting a championship.

We play the same style, but I think most of the players are really different in comparansion. But I think we can get it done, and shaq is out to prove the world wrong again.
