Not sounding good on NBA Shoot Around

Post#1 » by Jimmy103 » Sat Feb 9, 2008 12:59 am

Stephen A. and Bill Walton are BASHING you guys. They're calling you out to make a move, so what's it going to be guys? What are you hoping the roster will look like after the trade deadline and will you be pissed if they stand pat?

What's the vibe in Dallas?

Not exactly sure who they expect Dallas to trade for when it's not like we're going to move our foundation players. I believe the most we could expect is another player that can produce at the role we provide to him.

I'm open to moving Jason Terry, but only for a similar player that actually plays defense, so I view him as our main trading piece. Not expecting much to happen as far as acquiring any stars like Marion.

That's another entertaining article I read about Marion today and people actings as if we're going to acquire him.

Smith and Walton are complete morons is my thought.

If Miller or Maggette is available then they are the 2 guys I would want to make a run at. If a deal is there that will improve us I don't doubt that the front office would make the move. I'm not expecting anything to happen though and I still have confidence in the team we have.

First of all, just because the two goofballs that are Walton and Smith are bored does not mean we will make a dumb trade like the Suns!

Jimmy103 wrote:How about a dark horse run at Elton Brand?

Um, not a chance in hell Dallas pays out the arse when we have the Animal on a minimum contract!

Who cares what Stephen A. thinks, this is the guy that claimed nobody was close to DENVER in the western conference this year... I do think some potential trades (Mike Miller, Jermaine O'Neal) would be good fits for our team, but it seems like every trade offer from other teams has Harris or Howard involved, so nothing will end up happening more than likely

Harris and Howard are very under-rated because the east coast media keeps putting their names in some stupid ass trade ideas that devalue their perception around the league.

Any trade that won't involve nowitzki, howard, harris or bass....I would love to see happen. Maybe ship out terry or stack (liked the thread about the vc rumor)

One of the two guys I would love for us to acquire. I also like Ron Artest!

Ron is about the only one that has any chance of happening and even still the Kings are looking for some talented youth. Both Elton and AI have contracts that would make it very difficult for us to match.

Hahahahah Steven Smith is the biggest joke of an NBA analyst ever. Dear lord, the guy is just bad.

Besides, I think with all the trades, Dallas has improved their position of making the finals. We still have the same team that went to the Finals two years ago, remember. And the year before we went to the Finals, we talked about how important it was to keep our core in tact. Well I think we need to continue to do that through this year

While I do think we have to make a move, making a move just because -- a bunch of idiots think we should, and as a response to a washed-up, 35 year-old center and a soft power forward -- is (Please Use More Appropriate Word).

In all seriousness, we need a trade (quality SG). The last reason of which is b/c those two said so.

The more and more I watch this team the less likely I see a trade happening before the deadline. We are going to roll w/ what we got and if we dont succeed it will be a busy offseason.

Oh and Walton and Stephen A. are dumb.

We love trading. We post trade ideas all the time.

Unfortunately, none of us are Cuban or Donnie Nelson. So why ask us?

Shaq in Phoenix helped us and with Gasol in La la land they still are not a threat so why should we knee jerk over what some punk ass organizations desperate to be as good as us did? Damp and Diop at center is as good as any 5 combo in the west. Dirk is the reigning MVP at the 4. Harris is the best defensive and fastest PG, Howard is an all star despite what else is there at SF. At SG we could use a Magette or Miller but we are not hurting with the combo of Terry / Stack and George plus Bass at the big 3 / 4 is a surprise find of the year. When Fazekas gets brought up and he starts to contribute then Bass can stay over at the 3 and Howard will settle in at the 2 and watch out. Now if NJ wants to unload Carter for spares we might give them a Terry Stack Hassle combo with picks and an artificial expirer if necessary but nothing from our rotation.

^^ I don't think Fazekas is going to contribute this year. Let him stay in the d league so he can keep improving. Bass is not suited to play the 3 anyway. He works best at center beside Dirk. Avery has not played him at sf at all this season, so I see no reason to change that now.

Um....yeah he has. And is is fast enough to cover the 3 and strong enough to cover the 4. Bass becomes PF when Dirk is in as Bass is terrible maning the middle.

http://www.nba.com/statistics/lenovo/le ... =Mavericks
This shows that Bass has played less than 8 minutes at the 3 all season.

Bass-Juwan-Dirk for 2:30
Bass-Dirk-Diop for 5:37

I agree that he is fast enough to guard 3's when he has to, but I don't think he should be defending the perimeter all the time.
